References

Shahadah:

“I bear witness that there is no God but Allah, He is alone and does not have any partners. And I bear
witness that Muhammad is his servant and his messenger.” [2nd Kalma]

Salah:

“There is no expiation (for prayers) except prayer itself.” [Sahih Bukhari]

“Prayer in congregation is better than the prayer of a man alone by twenty seven times.” [Agreed]

Fasting:

“O you who believe! Fasting has been prescribed to you, as it was prescribed to those before you, so
that you may learn self restraint.” [Surah Baqarah 2:183]

Zakat:

“And spend of your substance in the cause of Allah; and make not your own hands contribute to your
destruction but do good: For Allah loves those who do good.” [Surah Baqarah 2:195]

Recipients of Zakat:

“Alms are for the poor and the needy, and those employed to administer the (funds), for those whose
hearts have (recently) reconciled (to truth), for those in bondage and in debt, in the cause of Allah, and
for the wayfarer….” [Surah Taubah 9:60]

Hajj:

“Pilgrimage thereto is a duty men owe to Allah, those who can afford the journey.” [Surah Al-Imran
3:97]

Permission for Jihad:

“To those against whom war is made, permission is given (to fight), because they are wronged and verily
Allah is most powerful for their aid.” [Surah Hajj 22:39]
Jihad:

“Fight in the cause of Allah those who fight you, but do not transgress limits…” [Surah Baqarah 2:190]

Badr:

“Remember you implored the assistance of your lord and He answered you: ‘I will assist with a thousand
angels, ranks on ranks’.” [Surah Anfal 8:9]

Uhad & Death of Prophet:

“Muhammad is no more than a messenger: many were messengers that passed before him. If he died or
were slain, will you then turn back on your heels?” [Surah Al-Imran 3:144]

Trench:

“O you who believe! Remember Allah’s favor to you when there came against you hosts and we sent
against them a wind and forces you saw not, verily Allah is all-seer of what you do.” [Surah Ahzab 33:9]

Treaty of Hudaibiya:

“Verily we have granted thee a manifest victory.” [Surah Fath 48:1]

“Truly did Allah fulfill the vision of His messenger; you shall enter the Sacred Mosque, if Allah wills, in full
security…” [Surah Fath 48:27]

Conquest of Makkah:

“And say: ‘Truth has come and falsehood has perished, Lo! Falsehood is ever bound to perish’.” [Surah
Bani Israel 17:81]

Farewell Pilgrimage:

“This day I have perfected your religion for you, completed my favor upon you and have chosen for you
Islam as your religion.” [Surah Maidah 5:3]

Seal of Prophets:

“Muhammad is not the father of any you, but is the messenger of Allah and the seal of the Prophets.”
[Surah Ahzaab 33:40]
First revelation:

“Read! In the name of your Lord, who created. Created man out of a clot of congealed blood. Read! And
your Lord is most bountiful. He who taught man the use of pen. Taught him what he knew not.” [Surah
Alaq 96:1-5]

Silent Preaching:

“And admonish your nearest kinsmen.” [Surah Shura 26:21]

Open Preaching:

“Therefore expound openly what you are commanded and turn away from those who join false gods
with Allah.” [Surah Hijr 15:94]

Permission for first migration:

“Good is for those who do good in this world and Allah’s earth is spacious…” [Surah Zumr 39:10]

Isra wa’l Mairaj:

“Glory to him who took His servant from the Sacred Mosque to the Farthest Mosque….. So that we
might show him some of Our signs.” [Surah Bani Israel 17:1]

Migration to Madinah:

“Remember how the unbelievers plotted against you, to keep you in bonds or to slay you or to get you
(out of your home). They plot and plan and Allah too plans; verily Allah is the best of planners.” [Surah
Anfal 8:30]

“… The two were in the cave and the second one said to his companion, ‘Have no fear for Allah is with
us.” [Surah Taubah 9:40]

Change of Qiblah:

“We see the turning of your face (for guidance to the heavens), now shall we turn you towards a Qiblah
that shall please you. Then turn your face in the direction of the Sacred Mosque, wherever you may be,
turn your faces in that direction…” [Surah Baqarah 2:144]
Ansar & Muhajir:

“Those who believed and adopted exile, and fought for the faith, with their property and their persons,
in the cause of Allah, as well as those who gave them asylum and aid, these are all the friends and
protectors of one another….” [Surah Anfal 8:72]

Articles of Faith (first paragraph):

“It is righteousness to believe in Allah and the last day and the Angels and the Books and the
Messengers.” [Surah Baqarah 2:197]

Tauheed:

“Say! He is Allah, the One and Only. Allah the Eternal, the Absolute. He begets not, nor is He begotten.
And there is none like unto Him.” [Surah Ikhlas 112:1-4]

“Allah forgives not that partners should be set up with Him, but He forgives anything else to whom He
pleases.” [Surah Nisa 4:48]

Angels:

“Those who do not believe in the hereafter name the angels with female names.” [Surah Najm 53:27]

“Praise be to Allah, who created the Heavens and the Earth, who made the angels with wings.” [Surah
Fatir 35:1]

Books:

“We have, without doubt, revealed the remainder and will assuredly guard it (from corruption).” [Surah
Hijr 15:9]

“It is not fitting for a man that Allah should speak with him except by inspiration, or from behind a veil
(screen) or by sending a messenger to reveal with Allah’s permission what Allah’s wills…” [Surah Shura
42:51]

Prophets:

“And for every nation there is a messenger.” [Surah Yunus 10:47]

Last day:

“You were lifeless and He gave you life and He will cause you to die and will bring you to life again.”
[Surah Baqarah 2:28]

Predestination & Divine Decree:

“It is not permitted to the sun to catch up with the moon, nor can the night outstrip the day; each just
swims along in its own orbit (according to Divine will).” [Surah Yasin 36:40]

“Nothing can avert the decree of Allah, except supplication.” [Tirmidhi]
