WHAT IS FIELD
RECORDING\ WHAT ITS
USED FOR??
Field recording is recording sounds outside
of the studio live. an example of this is
someone stabbing a lettuce repeatedly to
create the sound effect of someone being
stabbed.

This is used alot because it makes the audio

more crisp and clear and can now make
sounds such as glass tapping and waves
crashing louder.
WHAT IS FOLEY
RECORDING\ HOW DID
IT BEGIN??

Foley recording is the reproduction of everyday sound effects

that are added to films , videos ,and other media in post-
production to enhance audio quality.

The origins of foley recording came from the live broadcast era
of the 1920s.Radio studios would hire sound artists to create
the effects live on cue and improvise with the radio host during
broadcasts.
WHAT IS ADR\HOW
DID IT BEGIN??

ADR stands for automated dialogue replacement. This is the process of

recording dialogue in a studio after filming to replace the initially recorded
lines on set. This is usually due to bad sound quality recorded in the take that
production wants to use in the finished product

THE EARLY DAYS OF AUDIO REPLACEMENT ADR—ALSO KNOWN AS

“LOOPING”—INVOLVED LOOPING A LENGTH OF FILM OVER AND
OVER TO ALLOW THE ACTOR TO PERFECTLY MATCH AND SYNC
THEIR PERFORMANCE FROM SET. TODAY, THE ACTUAL “LOOPING”
HAPPENS ON A COMPUTER, WHICH IS WHERE THE “AUTOMATED”
PART OF ADR COMES IN.
