Sewing Machine

Input (in General)

First, the user presses the on (or off) button; second, the user gently presses foot speed control for a
short time and presses down the pattern selector dial and locks the thread. Lastly, the user then presses
again the foot speed control and presses down the pattern selector dial and locks the thread once
finished.

Controller/Process

The sewing machine relates the displacement of the foot speed control to the movement and speed of
the bobbin which allows the needle with upper thread in the presser foot to move upwards and
downwards. The selector dial allows the presser foot to create inwards (to create stitch) or backwards
(to lock a stitch) movement.

Output

Some sewing machine will produce bright red light underneath its presser foot to tell whether the
machine is on. The machine enables users to produce fine stitches through the foot speed control and
other control component’s work.

Control components: Buttons and Switches (on and off), Knobs (Stich length dial, pattern selector dial),
LEDs, Sensors, Actuators, Foot speed control
