Quiz # 3
Reading: Read the passage below. Then, compare and contrast plants and animals using a table.
Write/Type your answers in this activity sheet.

Plants and animals are both living organisms. Although they have different characteristics, needs,
and uses, both are important to humans.
Plants and animals grow and reproduce. Both need air, water, and food to live. Plants produce their
own food through the process called photosynthesis. Thus, they are known as producers. Most animals,
on the other hand, get their food from plants, although some eat other animals that feed on plants. Thus,
they are called consumers. Plants are usually green because they have the green pigment called
chlorophyll. Meanwhile, animals have varied colors. Some animals are black, brown, or multi-colored
like some birds and fishes. Plants and animals are sources of food for humans. They also provide
materials that are used to make clothes, bags, furniture, and other products.
Plants and animals make it possible for humans to live and survive. Both need our protection so
they could continue to provide us our needs.
