Asteroid comes from the
Greek Word
“asteroiedes” meaning
“starlike” its root word
“aster” means a star.
Serves to be remnants of
an exploded planet or
planetesimals. Its bodies
are formed from dust,
rocks, and other parts that
had never grown large to
be a planet.
2. COMETS are balls of
ice, rocks, and dust
particles in the outer
space. From the Greek
Word “kometes”
meaning “wearing long
hair”.
3. METEOROIDS,
METEORS, and
METEORITES
are small chunks of
rocks or metals
traveling in outer space
which originated from
asteroids and comets
orbiting around the sun.
