What is psychotherapy?
Psychotherapy:
Psychotherapy is a general term for treating people
through talking and psychological techniques.
A psychotherapist develops a therapeutic relationship with the patient
and make the patient comfortable to communicate and overcome the
problematic thoughts and behaviors of the patient

Types of Psychotherapy:
Type of psychotherapy vary from patient to patient
according to the nature of patient’s problems. Following are some types
of psychotherapy:
1: Psychoanalytic therapy
2: Behavioral therapy
3: Humanistic therapy
4: Cognitive therapy
5: Cognitive behavioral therapy
Psychotherapy formats:
Psychotherapists also use different psychotherapy formats to treat
the patients. Following are the formats used by psychotherapists:
1: Individual therapy
2: Couples therapy
3: Family therapy
4: Group therapy

What are the benefits of psychotherapy?


Advantages of psychotherapy:
o Developing better relationship skills
o Understanding and achieving personal goals
o Overcome illness such as depression, compulsive behaviors and
eating disorders
o Boost self confidence
o Overall mood is improved
o Replace negative thinking with positive thinking
o Better sleep
o Learn to manage unhealthy reactions
o Stop using drugs, tobacco and alcohol
o Increase focus, attention and organizational skills
