Delegate: Alejandra Ramírez

"I still believe that if you aim to change the world, journalism is a more immediate short-term weapon." -
Tom Stoppard

On the 11th of December 2011, under the slogan “reporting to you”, BuzzFeed News was born. Originally
beginning as a division of BuzzFeed with Ben Smith, BuzzFeed News has turned into one of the most
critical media worldwide. Constantly adapting to journalistic, periodic, and technological changes.
Constantly adding new sections to maintain readers informed. This agency has always adapted to change
and updated its format to stay ahead of innovations. The biggest digital press agency is characterized by
always defending human rights, informing with the pure truth, and sharing information of public interest.
Often covering progressive social issues such as LGBTQ rights, women's rights, and racial equality.
Nevertheless, this news agency covers a wide range of other topics like technology, entertainment, and
lifestyle. This agency's main pillars are a very important part of how everything is managed, which are:
accuracy, fairness and balance, independence, transparency, ethics, and respect for the community.

Throughout history, Buzzfeed News has exhibited how they’ve surpassed all the difficulties and faced all
the problems. Always maintaining informed readers with veridical information without missing any
detail. Even so, the agency managed to overcome all adversities. Always maintaining informed readers,
with veridical information without missing any detail.
Based on these, this delegate has decided to cover the CSW, UNESCO, and SOCHUM committees. All
big United Nations organizations give out humanitarian help and solve various conflicts that involve not
complying with human rights, whatever the circumstances willing to support every nation.
This decision was taken as the mentioned committees are discussing actual-matter topics such as child
marriage, and affordable AI in education, among others. Having media with such impact as Buzzfeed
News will completely change the curse of the debate. This press agency always has shared information
regarding inequality and how we can stop it from occurring. At all times sharing veridical information and
making public denunciations with the authorities.

BuzzFeed News is compromised to take an active part in the debate by conducting interviews, and press
conferences, recording videos full of interesting information from press media to delegates, and
presenting creative and ingenious updates for diverse committees. Work as a journalist by writing articles,
and creating infographics, among others. All of these various types of content would be published and
shared with all the delegates, changing the course of the debate entirely. Having in the committee a News
Outlet like BuzzFeed News can change the debate making it more dynamic and controversial.
This delegate’s goal at the end of the debate is to show how important it is to always be informed. Sharing
diverse types of content will communicate delegates about how the debate is going, and most importantly,
how they are doing on it. The press will always be the delegate’s most trustable source of information.
This goal can be achieved by publishing every piece of content made and talking to every single delegate
and chair.
