INTRODUCTION
BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY
A Case Information Management System (CIMS) is a software or digital platform designed to
facilitate the efficient handling, tracking, and storage of case-related data and documents in
various fields. CIMS systems have evolved over time, primarily due to advancements in
information technology. They were initially paper-based, with physical files and documents, but
the digital age brought about a need for more efficient and secure methods of managing case
information. The shift aimed to reduce paperwork, enhance data accessibility, and improve
collaboration among stakeholders
OBJECTIVES
I DESIRE SIMIKA, student of BE CSE (Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science) at DMI
ST JOHN THE BAPTIST UNIVERSITY, hereby present a Case Information Management
System for Lawyers or Advocates
The purpose of this system is as follows:

 To help Lawyers or advocates efficiently manage their documents in an organized and

centralized manner, making it easy to store, retrieve and share file associated with each
case.
 To implement a robust and secure measures to protect sensitive case information,
ensuring that only authorized personnels can access and modify data.
 Case Tracking, whereby enabling real-time tracking of case process, allowing clients to
monitor the status of cases, deadlines and milestones.
 To provide authorized users with easy access to case information from various devices,
promoting remote work and flexibility.
SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
This project is mainly being developed to help Lawyers and Advocates to organize and
maintain their data in a centralized way, whereby they don’t need to worry about maintaining
any paperwork. This software will maintain everything which a Lawyer or advocates need to
do, it will store the data about the lawyer’s client, opponents, case No., case details, previous
hearing date, next hearing date, court name, employee details, case-related documents.
This software is user-friendly, as the modules are very visible and the information is very
clear. It can be easily accessed via web browses and it relies on a secure and scalable
database to store data related to cases.
LITERATURE REVIEW
Nowadays the internet is becoming popular as it a virtual place where people share ideas, store
resources in a secured manner and promote new a way of doing business. The usage of phones is
promoting a new way of doing business and securing sensitive data whereby reducing cost.
Usage of this system will promote an easy access lawyers or advocates
