CHAPTER III

METHODOLOGY

This chapter present the framework of the study. It includes the following; research design, sample
size and sampling, data collection instrument, and gathering data.

RESEARCH DESIGN

Phenomenology design method of research will be used in this study. Phenomenology is simply
defined as a type of approach research that wants to study the phenomenon or experiences of
students in home-based learning. This methods provides essential knowledge about the concepts
used in the study. This study was a survey on the selected students of general academic strand
using questionnaires.

SAMPLE SIZE AND SAMPLING

The aim of the qualitative research is to understand, from within, the subjective reality of the
study participants. Rather we want to reach people within the study area who can share their
unique slice of reality, so that all slices together illustrate the range of variation within the study
area. The researcher use convenience sampling it involves selecting people that are most
convenient for us as a researcher. The respondent are the selected students who take the home-
based learning.

DATA COLLECTION INSTRUMENT

Open-ended questionnaire will be used to collect the data in order to get the respondents
perspective and allow them to express their thoughts freely.
