HYDRAULICS

This hydraulics course provides students with a good understanding of the fundamentals of hydraulics, hydraulic
power, basic circuits, symbols ands schematic diagrams, principles of pressure and flow, and speed control.

Concepts presented include regenerative circuits, pressure compensated flow control operation, various types of
speed control, positioning, hydraulic fluid care and cavitation prevention. Participants develop a solid base for
advanced system design, operation, and maintenance. Course time is split evenly between circuit design and
construction.

Course Objective: To give the participants a foundation in the basic operating principles of hydraulic systems.
Areas covered include:

• Physical principles of hydraulics • Hydraulic component operation and

• Hydraulic fluids and filtration application
methods • Circuit design and construction
