SIMPLE INTEREST

&
COMPOUND INTEREST
SESSION BY – ANAND RAO K
Some other Important Tips
If 𝐴𝑥 and 𝐴𝑦 are the amounts after 𝑥 and 𝑦 years respectively,
at the same rate of interest then,
|𝑨𝒙 − 𝑨𝒚 | gives SI for |𝒙 − 𝒚| years.

Example: At same rate of interest, a sum of money amounts to

Rs.580 and Rs.740 in 3 years and 5 years respectively
Then, 740 − 580 = 160 gives the SI for 5 − 3 = 2 years
160
So, SI for 1 year = = 𝑅𝑠. 80
2
So, SI for 3 years is 3 × 80 = 𝑅𝑠. 240
So, Principle is 580 − 240 = 𝑅𝑠. 340
