1 digit, 2 digit and 3 digit numbers
2. Demonstrate their understanding of word problems

Instructional Technique
We will work together as a class to review the math lesson on
adding and subtracting and go over examples on the board.
Then the students will work individually at a computer to answer
the questions on the website.
After the assignment is completed we will come together again as
a class and go over the problems from the website
(Class discussion, Individual work)

Instructional Materials
The only necessary materials needed for this assignment will be:
1. Computer with internet access
2. Website
3. Pencil

Theoretical Perspective
This lesson is very important because math is a very basic subject
and the students will need to know how to add and subtract to
complete basic tasks throughout their life and education. Its
important that they improve their skill in basic math so when they
continue on in their education they can easily more on to more
complex math concepts.

Procedure
1. The teacher will start off the class by asking the students
questions to remind them of the lesson on adding and subtracting
2. The teacher will write problems on the board and the students
will answer them out loud by raising their hands.
3. The teacher will direct them to the website that they will be
using to answer math questions
4. The teacher will explain how to move on to each new question
they must answer the question correctly
5. The teacher will explain to the class that even if they get it
wrong they can go back and try again
6. The teacher will instruct the students to begin and the teacher
will walk around to monitor the progress and answer questions
when
necessary
7. After the activity is over, we will go over the problems from the
website as a class
8. If there are any students with a disability, there will be an aide
to help them one on one
9. No homework will be given for this lesson because we will be
completing work in class
Evaluation
The students will be evaluated on the following objectives:
1. Demonstrate their understanding of adding and subtracting
1 digit, 2 digit and 3 digit numbers
2. Demonstrate their understanding of word problems
3. Apply their knowledge and understanding of addition /
subtraction using the website activity
4. Add and Subtract problems with 3 or more numbers
The teacher will determine if they have met their objectives when
they work together as a class and the students answer the questions
by
raising their hands. If the student answers the question to the
math problem then the teacher will be able to know if they are
progressing
in their knowledge of the subject.
