E-WASTE COLLECTION DRIVE

Disposal of obsolete appliances in an environment friendly way to protect the Earth.

Dear Parents,

In India quantity of e-waste has now become a major problem. Disposal of e-waste is an
emerging global environmental and public health issue, as this waste has become the
most rapidly growing segment of the formal municipal waste stream in the world. E-waste
or Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) are loosely discarded, surplus,
obsolete, broken, electrical or electronic devices. In our country most of the waste
electronic items are stored at households as people do not know how to discard them.
This ever-increasing waste is very complex in nature. Improper dismantling and
processing of e-waste render it perilous to human health and our ecosystem. Therefore,
the need of proper e-waste management has been realized. Our school has taken up
project under Green Schools Program by Center of Science and Environment to create
awareness about this growing menace and help in proper disposal of e waste for saving
our ecosystem and a step towards better tomorrow.

Dear Parents be a part of this Nobel cause and contribute in e-waste collection drive from
14/10/2023 to 20/10/2023. Please send e waste (that includes all electric and electronic
items that are not of use) to the school. All the collected e waste will be sent to an
authorized dismantler for proper recycling and environment friendly dismantling.

Together we can make difference. Reduce, Reuse and Recycle e-waste for better
tomorrow.
