Basic awareness needed from the school level to reduce the solid

waste in our city Karachi:

The Former Minister and Chairman Standing Committee on

Communication FPCCI Muhammad Noman Saigal has emphasized on
the awareness among the school going children from the school to make
them realize the importance of environment and stop the habit of
throwing trash on the roads etc reducing the solid waste in the city. It
will also decline the effect of airborne diseases. If the children are aware
of the habit of throwing trash in the bin and have to keep the
environment clean, it will help them and the surroundings to reduce
the impact of solid waste. When these young ones grow they will
maintain the good habits which we see in countries like Canada,
Singapore and many others.

The cleanliness in various countries is due to the early training of the

young ones from home and School. It's a part of academic activity. There
are various awareness schemes introduced to make them understand
the importance of a clean environment and the effects on the nation
and Country itself. But at the same time there should be arrangements
of places where one can throw the trash. Dustbin should be placed
everywhere in this regard.

In Pakistan our children are not aware because the day to day habits are
different. They see elders through trash everywhere which they also
follow. A campaign is needed to carry these messages hard and fast.

In Singapore chewing gum is banned because a few years back it

damaged the railway track of the country. So they banned it and nobody
was allowed to even buy it.

Environment friendly awareness schemes are the need of the day in

Pakistan which will change the life of our nation.
