About LL.M. (Professional) Programme

The LL.M. (Professional) Programme is a specialized

educational offering designed to enhance the skills,
knowledge, and leadership capabilities of senior-level
professionals and executives in various fields. It is designed
to cater to individuals who are already established in their
careers and seek to stay ahead in a rapidly evolving
economic and social landscape.

The LL.M. (Professional) Programme is designed to

provide an immersive learning experience, combining
theoretical concepts with real-world case studies and
practical insights. Participants engage in interactive
discussions, collaborate with peers from diverse
backgrounds, and benefit from the expertise of
experienced faculty members. By participating in this
Programme, professionals can acquire new perspectives,

Specialized Legal Knowledge
Providing participants with advanced and
specialized knowledge in specific areas of
law, enabling them to deepen their
understanding and expertise in selected
legal domains.
Global Legal Perspectives
Developing participants’ understanding of
international legal frameworks, cross-
border transactions, and global legal issues,
enabling them to effectively navigate
international regulatory landscapes and
engage with matters with global
implications.
Leadership in Legal Practice
Developing specific legal skills and
competencies to empower participants to
engage in strategic planning, effective
communication, negotiation, stakeholder
management and guide their organizations
through legal challenges.

Legal Risk Management
Equipping participants with the knowledge
and tools to identify, assess, and mitigate
legal risks faced by organizations, thereby
minimizing potential legal liabilities and
protecting their clients’ interests.

LL.M. (Professional) Programme
Nature of the Programme
The LL.M. (Professional) is Diploma
Programme conducted through a mixed
mode of distance education and contact
learning. The Programme will be for a
period of one academic year, spread over
two semesters. The academic year will run
from August to June. Contact classes will
be held at NLU Delhi.
Curriculum
Candidates enrolled in the programme will
have to successfully complete eight papers.
There shall be four core papers in Semester I
and one optional/specialization papers in
Semester II.
Core Papers
1. Basic Introduction to the Law and Legal
System
2. Constitutional Law: An Introduction
3. Fundamentals of Law
(Criminal, Commercial and Civil)
4. Litigation Practicum

Specialization
Each specialization carries four subjects. The
following specializations are being offered:
1. Criminal Law
2. Banking and Finance Studies
3. Intellectual Property Law
4. Commercial Law
5. Environmental Law and Justice
6. Consumer Law
7. Health Law and Policy
8. Taxation Law
Evaluation
Examination will be conducted at the end
of each semester. Each Paper shall carry a
maximum of 100 Marks which will include
marks obtained in assignments and end-
semester examination. It will be mandatory
for the students to complete all assignments
and appear in the examination.
Attendance
Every student shall be required to secure a
minimum of 75% of attendance in every
course to be eligible to appear for the end
semester examination.
LL.M. (Professional) Programme
Who is Eligible to Apply?
A person who has completed his/her
graduation/post graduation, in any
discipline, with a minimum of 50% marks
and has been in service, or has had
professional experience of at least three
years will be eligible to enrol for the
programme.
The students currently enrolled in the
LL.M., Ph.D. or any other programme at
NLU Delhi shall not be eligible to apply for
the LL.M. (Professional) Programme.
Admission Criteria
Candidates will be selected on the basis of
percentage secured in their graduation. All
the applicants, who are found eligible, will
be admitted to the programme.
Fee
The tuition fees for the programme for
Indian Nationals shall be Rs. 1,25,000 [One
Lakh, Twenty Five Thousand only]. For
foreign nationals, the amount shall be USD
3500 [Three Thousand Five Hundred
only]. Fees shall be charged separately for
re-registration, repeat exams etc.

The candidates have to pay the course fee at
the time of filling the application form. The
payment is to be made online and the
receipt of the same has to be attached in the
application form. Without the fee receipt
the form will be considered incomplete and
is liable for rejection.
