JOINING INSTRUCTIONS - PRESERVICE CANDIDATES 2023/2024

1.0 RULES AND REGULATIONS


All students are expected to strictly observe rules and regulations copies of which shall be made
available on admission.
2.0 UNIFORM GUIDELINES
Uniform is the student’s responsibility and all students admitted to this College will be expected
towear full uniform with exceptions to Higher Diploma Students.

A) Male Students
i. One (1) College blazer (Diploma Students only) – (Optional)
ii. Three (3) White shirts (per year)
iii. Two (2) Black trousers (per year)
iv. One (1) College pullover
v. Two (2) White laboratory coats
vi. Two (2) Pairs of shoes (black or brown)
vii. One (1) College tie
viii. Two (2) Epiletts for Nursing Students

B) Female Students
i. One (1) College blazer (Diploma Students Only)- optional
ii. Three (3) Blue dresses (per year)
iii. One (1) Cardigan (navy blue)
iv. Two (2) Pairs of shoes (black or brown)
v. Two (2) White laboratory coats (except for Nursing Students)
vi. Three (3) White veil & white trousers (Muslim Girls only)
vii. Two (2) Epiletts for Nursing Students

Uniforms are available from School Outfitters (Muindi Mbingu opp. City Market Nairobi) and
also Uniform Distributors LTD, along River Road, opposite Consolidated Bank, and other
distributors in major towns. In case of difficulty candidates are encouraged to contact the
Principals of their respective Colleges for assistance on Uniform information.

3.0 ALL STUDENTS JOINING THE COLLEGE MUST BRING WITH THEM
THE FOLLOWINGITEMS ON ADMISSION:

i. Letter of Admission
ii. Original KCE/KSCE and KACE Certificate(s) (RESULT slips are applicable to candidates
who completed school in 2022 ONLY)
iii. Original School Leaving Certificate (s)
iv. National Identity Card or Birth Certificate or any other legal identification.
v. Two (2) sets of Certified Photostat copies of each certificate in (ii) to (iv)
vi. Number of required passport size photographs (as stated in the Admission Letter)

4.0 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

A. COMPUTER/LAPTOP/SMART PHONE
Since classes will be offered online, all students must have any of the above items to enable
them access online classes via the college e-learning portal. In addition, internet connectivity
must be available to the student.
B. MEDICICAL INSURANCE
ALL students are expected to have medical insurance either of their own or as dependents.
Several medical insurance options are available at a cost including the National Insurer, NHIF.

C. SPORTING ACTIVITIES
Students are encouraged to participate in games and sports that are currently established in the
College. Please bring the relevant kit(s) for sports, games or activity that you intend to
participate in. The following are some of the extra-curricular activities that are established in
the College: Tae-Kwondo, presidential award scheme, scrabble, darts, badminton, football,
volleyball, netball, chess and basketball.

D. TRAVELLING
Except for College educational tours and other related activities, all students will meet their own
personal travel expenses.

E. TEXT BOOKS
Students are encouraged to buy their own textbooks. Specific courses book lists are enclosed
inthe admission package to assist you purchase the books. Text books are available at School
Outfitters along Muindi Mbingu street opposite City Market Nairobi, University of Nairobi
bookshop, Text Book Centre and other book stores across the country.
F. STATIONERY
All stationery will be the responsibility of the student

G. PERSONAL EFFECTS
(Those who have opted to be accommodated and have contacted the principals) Please bring
with you the following personal effects:
i. Three (3) bed sheets, two (2) blankets, Two (2) towels two pillow cases
ii. Adequate personal clothing
iii. Washing basin/bucket
iv. Other personal effects as may be deemed necessary.
