Solar Energy

Energy is necessary for life and for all living things. All the energy on Earth comes from
the sun, either directly or indirectly. We must carefully select our energy sources because they
have an impact on Earth's natural processes in ways that we may not be aware of. Energy is
crucial because we depend on it for practically everything we do. However, many people take
the energy we currently have for granted. As a result, we must be aware of potential future
energy sources if we hope to continue using energy in the future.

Solar Energy is an example of an energy source that we can use in the future. The image
above is what we call a solar power plant. It is used to absorb sunlight and produce energy that
we can use. Another definition to is “A solar power plant is any type of facility that converts
sunlight either directly, like photovoltaics, or indirectly, like solar thermal plants, into electricity”
(McFaden, 2021).

Having solar energy as our future energy source benefits us in multiple ways. One
example of the advantages is that it uses the sun to produce energy. The sun provides more than
enough energy to meet the whole world's energy needs, and unlike fossil fuels, it won't run out
anytime soon. As a renewable energy source, the only limitation of solar power is our ability to
turn it into electricity in an efficient and cost-effective way. Solar power is the key to a clean
energy future. Every day, the sun gives off far more energy than we need to power everything on
earth. (Fortum, 2020).
 Using solar energy as an energy source has a positive effect on pollution. It can contribute
us in helping to prevent pollution. According to U.S. Energy Information Administration, “Solar
energy technologies and power plants do not produce air pollution or greenhouse gases when
operating. Using solar energy can have a positive, indirect effect on the environment when solar
energy replaces or reduces the use of other energy sources that have larger effects on the
environment.” (USEIA, 2022). When you generate power with solar panels, no greenhouse gas
emissions are put into the atmosphere. Solar energy is a key energy source in the transition to
the creation of clean energy since the sun produces more energy than humans could ever
require.
