Introduction

Background and Rationale of the Study

From lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender individuals to queer,

intersex, and asexual individuals, each identity contributes to the beautiful

mosaic of human diversity. However, according to the study of Wright (2022),

LGBTQIA+ people Embracing this spectrum and advocating for inclusivity

allows us to move beyond rigid binary constructs and appreciate the richness

of individual experiences and identities face various forms of discrimination,

violence and oppression in many parts of the world, as well as challenges in

accessing health care, education, employment and legal rights. The LGBTQIA+

community has a long and complex history of marginalization, discrimination,

and resistance. From the Stonewall riots in 1969 to the struggles for

decriminalization and recognition, LGBTQIA+ individuals have fought for their

rights and visibility. In this kind of situations, they need someone to protect

and fight for them. They need a family to support and stay with them.

Philippines has a wide variety of cultures involving the roles and authority of a

father in a family. The study of Harper (2021) about the roles of a Filipino

father found out that fathers serves as the provider as well as the protector of

the family. They have the greatest authority but also have the greatest
