Lola Luchi was in bed with a cold. She sneezed and coughed. In the evening she had a
fever.
When a doctor was called, he gave her some medicines to take.
“Lola you have influenza,” Dr. Paras said. Drink plenty of fruit juice and stay in bed. Take
this medicine and you will get well.” Then he told aunt Celia to follow all directions in giving
Lola Luchi her medicines.
Lola Luchi was very careful. She used her own spoon, cup, and plate. She did not allow
the children to go near her. She covered her mouth with a handkerchief when she sneezed or
