COLONIALISM
Exploitation

Situation #1
FORCED LABOR
Forced labor is when someone is
forced to do work without just
payment and exploiting them in
the midst of such labor. For me
forced labor should be stopped and
the government should take proper
measures. Many are suffering
from unjust labor exploitation.
Their lives are put to risk. I hope
that the victims will be saved and
find justice.
Situation #2
HUMAN TRAFFICKING
Human trafficking is one of the
rampant problems in the world
especially here in the Philippines.
People take advantage of other
people. Some take people against
their will and make them do illegal
and inhumane activities. In my
opinion this things should be taken
action immediately and eliminate
the threats on humanity.
RELIGION
Marriage

Situation #1
DIVORCE BILL
Divorce bill in in our opinion should
not be implemented. For us
marriage is a sacred vow. It is for
the Lord. So when we enter
marriage consider everything and
be under the Lord’s headship. Do not
enter marriage if you’re not ready
and ask the Lord if it’s right to
enter marriage already so that you
will not enter marriage and go as
you please and no divorce would
happen.
Situation #2
EXTRAMARITAL AFFAIR
I am not a judge and I don’t want to
judge. But according to the Lord and
even in the natural law that it is hateful
to have extramarital affairs. If you are
already married, you should keep in
mind the vow you make to the Lord to
only love that person you married. For a
family to grow and be healthy they
should not have or not commit adultery.
They should have Christ as the center of
their marriage also to maintain a good
marriage life
POWER
Impunity

Situation #1
EXTRAJUDICIAL KILLINGS
For me those politicians or those in power
should be punished if they commit
extrajudicial killings. The system of the
nations should not be in favor of them.
While the poor suffer injustice they just
commit these unjust killings in the
name of justice. These people are simply
hypocrites and our nation will not
flourish if those people in power can just
commit extrajudicial killings in the
mask of goodness and justice just like a
wolf in sheep’s clothing.
Situation #2
UNJUST IMPRISONMENT
As we all know, unjust
imprisonment is when someone is
imprisoned for a crime they didn’t
commit simply because they are
against a certain powerful person. In
the Philippines where the justice
system favors the people in power, the
poor are always implicated. I hope
that someone in power will rise up to
defend those who are imprisoned
unjustly and execute justice fairly.
And those who commit impunity
will not be left unscathed.
REVOLUTION
People’s Power In February 1986, the “conjugal dictatorship” of the
Philippine dictator Ferdinand E. Marcos and his wife
Imelda crumpled during an army-backed campaign of
mass public demonstrations that came to be known as
the People Power Revolution. Every year since, political
activists and ordinary Filipinos have gathered to mark the
democratic uprising and commemorate the vicissitudes
of Marcos’ rule.

During his 21-year reign, during 14 of which he ruled

under Martial Law, Marcos oversaw the murder,
imprisonment, and torture of thousands of Filipinos, and
sucked billions from the national accounts. After being
forced out of power in 1986, Marcos fled with his family
to Hawaii, where he died three years later.

All of these themes were front and center last Saturday

when, as The Associated Press reported, about 1,400
demonstrators, some of them survivors of Martial Law,
gathered at the People Power Monument along the
Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (EDSA) in central Manila, a
primary site of the protests, to mark the anniversary.
Some waved Philippine flags, while others held placards

Situation #1
LARGE SCALE PROTEST
Large scale protests always
happens in the Philippines
because of the unfair system.
The people are provoked and
thus protest against the
government and people in
power. The large scale protest
that I will never forget was the
EDSA revolution against the
corrupt and unjust marcos
regime.
Situation #2
MARTIAL LAW
Martial law was the darkest law
that can happen at that time. Well
for me personally, martial law is
okay but the problem is that how
the military abuse their power to
commit crimes. The martial law at
that time of the Marcos regime left
a shadow to the Filipinos and it
can never be frgotten. A dark
legacy left by Ferdinand Marcos
Sr.
REFORM
Abolition

https://www.rappler.com/newsbreak/fact-
check/senate-no-law-passed-abolish-k-12-program/
Situation #1
K-12 ABOLITION
K-12, in my experience was
very helpful. I learned the
basics or prerequisites for
college. When I entered
college, the lessons were not
that hard for me because I had
enough foundation. K-12
abolition should not be made
possible. And I knew that it
would not be abolished but
rather improved.
Situation #2
SK ABOLITION
In my opinion and base on my
observations, SK can be helpful but at
the same time not. When someone runs
as an SK officer, they win because of
money. And when they are in the
position they are like a vase, just for
decoration purposes. So, I am in favor to
abolish SK. Nowadays the SK has not
served its purpose. The youths in the SK
positions are not helping and taking
action. They just use their position for
fame and flattery purposes.

Mental Health Problem

Situation #1
FAMILY PROBLEMS
Family problems can affect a student’s
learning focus and education. Especially
the financial problem in the family. As a
person who experience it firsthand, I
always cry because of my family’s
situation. My father is only a tricycle
driver and my mother is a clothing
vendor. It’s really hard to see them in
pain and working so hard for you. I feel
so so useless especially I’m the eldest and
it’s frustrating.
Situation #2
DEPRESSION
Depression for me is a very harmful
mental problem. It can actually kill
you. I once slit my wrists everyday to
alleviate the mental and emotional pain
by inflicting physical pain. It’s because
I can’t pay the tuition, I don’t know
what to do. I still thank the Lord that I
was able to go on despite that. I always
thought that it is ridiculous that people
inflict harm to themselves. But I
finally understood when I experienced it
myself. It is kind of a way to escape but
only temporary.
