Personal Statement

My motivations to apply this program is Kim Beom Soo-nim, CEO of Kakao Corp. I am very interested
in the flow of business at South Korea. Which Korean people really prioritize and love products that are
produced by their own country. It makes me motivated and really want to learn it.
It is so funny that I have known Korean culture since high school. I started to learn Hangul when I was in
high school and my interest in South Korea has grown much more significant. I decide to apply to Global
Scolarship (GKS)-Undergraduated in 2017. But I didn’t get a chance to send the application but my
journey to South Korea did not stop there.
I got accepted at School of Accounting Sharia major in Tazkia Institute. This is the first and most famous
Islamic Economics school in Indonesia. There are some reasons that made me into the business field.
From childhood I have been taught how to do business by my parents, even though my parents have no
basic on business. And so far I have run a variety of businesses, starting from selling profider, clothing,
and food. After I entered my university I was active in business unit organizations. But beside that I
always try to maintain a high GPA (Grade Point Average) and have 3.52 as my final cumulative GPA. I
also explored many activites such as joining art club, business competition, and tax voluntary.
During my period as Business unit organizations, I made some breakthroughs. I created an alternative top
up for student and a wide variety of food for breakfast. And I managed to help small traders to expand
their business reach. This experience has taught me to be a good leader and it was helping me though my
ecterpreneurial journey.
Before graduation, my thesis supervisor invited me to join in his office, Tax Consultant Office. After
graduation I got a job in a pharmacy office, PT Pfizer Indonesia. In my work, I am an employee who
quickly understands and learns something new. My position at PT Pfizer Indonesia is as a Sales
Marketing Associate. During work, I process a lot of various kinds of data using Microsoft Excel. The
data that I process is quite a lot from sales data to sales activity reports. It was from my job that I became
interested in the flow of a company's business.
During my work I only focused on the data that I processed, without deeply understanding the flow of the
data and how the data processing could be obtained. For this reason, with personal encouragement, I am
trying to understand the flow of the data that I have processed so far. In this letter, I would like to state
my personal interest of applying for a Master's Degree in Business Administration. I started to feel
interested in Business Administration after I started working. I feel amazed to see how a business in the
company runs. How does one make a business plan, control the flow of the business, and organize the
business to achieve the desired goals. I also want to know how someone can maintain their business so
that it remains stable and always profitable. For this reason, I feel that this Business Administration is
very suitable for the passion that I have. Because I like to socialize and organize things the way I want.
As one of the most developed countries in the world supported by strong economic conditions, South
Korea has many things to learn, especially in terms of Business Administration. South Korea also has
many well-known universities that are recognized throughout the world, including the Kangwoon
Nasional University. I have been learning Korean on my own for 6 full months. If I am given the
opportunity to continue my studies at the Kangwoon Nasional University, I will be well versed in theory
and be able to quickly adapt and modify theoretical principles in real cases.
For that I need more experience, knowledge and challenges. So that the abilities that I have can continue
to grow again and again. I write this statement with the hope that it can be used as material for your
consideration.
