In the previous lessons, you have learned the relationship of the volume between a rectangular prism and a
pyramid; a cylinder and a cone; and a cylinder and sphere. This time, we will focus on finding the volume of
cylinders, pyramids, cones, and spheres.
The volume ( V ) of a cylinder is the product of the circular base area ( B ) and the height ( h ).
V = π 𝑟 2h
The volume of the pyramid is the base area (B) times the height (h).
1
V =3 (l • w • h)
1
The formula for the volume of a cone is3 the base area ( B ) times the height ( h ).
1
V = 3 π 𝑟 2h
The formula for the volume of a sphere with radius ( r ) is 4 3 times the cube of the radius.
4
V = 3 π 𝑟3

Activity 4: Group Activity
1. Divide the class into 4 groups.
2. Each group will be given a solid figure.
3. Let them solve for the volume of the given figure.
4. Grouping sharing follows afterwards.
