BRIGADA ESKWELA NARRATIVE REPORT

School is an institution which is responsible for molding the learners to become a responsible
individual of the society. A student is to be crafted here to be a better person that will become an
emblem of the kind of a learning center where he will grow. The school demands administrators
and teachers to work with others; it includes the stakeholders, volunteers, government and non-
government organizations and other institutions to accomplish the designed tasks and objectives.
This would need dedicated school personnel, cooperative parents, accountable community, and
innovative learners.
The DepEd memorandum no. 066, s otherwise known as National Schools Maintenance week or
commonly called Brigada Eskwela aims to prepare schools with the help of the above others in
collaboration with administrators and teachers. The theme for this year’s activity is “ Pagkakaisa
Para sa Handa, Ligtas at Matatag na Paaralan Tungo sa Magandang Kinabukasan .” It usually
happens one week ahead of the official opening of classes, from May 28, 2018 to June 02, 2018.
However, the start of this six days is not the indicator of the beginning of the Brigada Eskwela.
In fact, as early as the first month of the current year, it was pre- implemented. Starting January
02, to May 11, 2018, around this time was the assessment of physical facilities and maintenance
needs of the school, the resource mobilization, organization of the Brigada Eskwela committees
and the orientation of their specific roles and tasks put into order.
The next activity was the Division Kick-off and Caravan of the Brigada Eskwela in Alfonso,
Cavite on May 26, 2018. The activity went well and some of the best practices were observed to
be implemented in our school.
Tagaytay City Science National High School held its kick-off/opening program in the school
grounds on Monday, May 28, 2018. The following were the activities done from May 28 – June
02, 2018:
May 28, 2018: The senior high school teachers, students and parents lead the kick off program
together with all the participants and guests.

June 01, 2018: The grade 10 teachers, students and parents together with Barangay

Overall the Brigada Eskwela 2018 was a success and a stepping stone for the success of the
