JOB DESCRIPTION
Background:
The Aga Khan Education Services (AKES) is an agency of the Aga Khan
Development Network and one of the largest private, not-for-profit, non-
denominational educational networks in the developing world. AKES currently
operates over 200 pre-primary, primary, secondary, and higher-secondary schools
and programmes in diverse geographic locations worldwide, including in
Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Kenya, Kyrgyzstan, Madagascar, Pakistan,
Tajikistan, Tanzania, Uganda and the United Arab Emirates. Schools offer their
respective country's national curricula; some schools in East Africa and Bangladesh
also offer international curricula (IB and CAIE). AKES employs over 3,000 teachers
and educates over 75,000 students.
Job Summary:
The core purpose of this role is to assist in providing ICT support for the
implementation, maintenance and operations of sustainable ICT infrastructure and
approved systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide first level of technical support to the users of all ICT services (including
information systems) available at AKES schools and offices in Bangladesh;
Ensure timely installation, configuration and maintenance of ICT hardware,
software and network equipment;
Keeping constant communication with line managers regarding; ICT incidents,
service downtimes, projects progress and all IT matters at schools and office in
Bangladesh;
Assist in the implementation and support of all ICT initiatives and information
systems;
Assist in the implementation of ICT policies and Standard Operating Procedures;
Assist in implementation of information security related best practices for all ICT
services available at AKES, B;
Assist schools in identifying and quantifying ICT needs with guidance from
Manager, ICT;
Maintain updated inventory record for ICT hardware, software and network
equipment;
Ensure regular updates to operating systems and antimalware solutions for all
computers;
Ensure preventive maintenance and service of ICT equipment on quarterly basis;
Ensure timely troubleshooting and repair of faulty ICT equipment; liaise with
respective departments and external service providers for resolution of technical
issues;
Provide technical training to the users of ICT services as and when required;
Any other duties assigned by the supervisor;
