Tutorial 3a – Develop WBS for small/medium scale project

1. Use SmartArt tools to draw your WBS.

2. Begin with LEVEL 0 – Project TITLE

3. Develop at least 3 levels of WBS.

4. LEVEL 1 is to represent phases in project. LEVEL 2 and LEVEL 3 can be deliverables.

Refer to slides for samples.

Tutorial 3b – Defining Activities using MS Project

5. Develop the activity list based on your WBS (Decomposition)

Note: Use MS Excel to complete this tutorial.

6. Include Milestones where necessary.

7. Optional - Ensure your project Gantt Chart adheres to Project Management Life Cycle -

Initiation, Planning, Executing, Monitoring & Controlling, Closing (if time permits, else you

can continue in next lesson)
