1. Take a placement test (written and oral) at the Goethe-Institut to determine your
language level. The placement test costs KES 2,000. Please note that this is a
recommendation and not an obligation. We recommend a score of at least 55% in
the pre-assessment for those intending to sit for the exam.
2. Complete the examination booking form using the details on your identification
document. Make sure that all your details have been entered correctly and are
clearly legible. The details will be reflected on your certificate according to the
identification document that you present on the examination day. Please note that
certificates can neither be reprinted nor replaced. You need to provide a coloured
passport size photograph (not older than 3 months) and a valid identification
document (visa applicants should submit passport), in original and a copy, on the
examination day. Underage candidates without IDs or passports have to submit
one of their parents’ original ID, their birth certificate and waiting card, a sworn
affidavit and a photograph that has been endorsed by our lawyer.
3. Once your examination booking form has been accepted, deposit the examination
fee in our account as indicated below. Present the transaction number or slip to
the language course office for entry into the examination list. Please note that only
those candidates whose names appear on the examination list will be admitted to
the examination. You will receive a receipt with examination details. Your
candidate number (the 5-digit number in bold print) is very important and is
required on the examination day. Please take good note of it and bring your
receipt with you to the examination.
4. On the day of the examination, report to the institute at 8.15a.m. or 10.15a.m. as
notified.
