A. BATTLE OF THE MINDS GENERAL MECHANICS:


1. The quiz bee has three rounds; EASY, MODERATE and DIFFICULT. Below are the
corresponding number of items, points and time allotment for answering each item.

2. Questions will come from science facts.


3. Each participant must have a white board/illustration board/bond paper, markers
4. The Quiz Master will read each of the questions twice. The questions will also be
presented via PowerPoint presentation.
5. All participants will have to wait for the signal from the Quiz Master before answering
the questions.
6. When time is up, the participants will be asked to raise their boards or papers to show
their answers. Participants can only show up and bring down their boards or papers upon
instruction of the Quiz Master.
7. In case of a tie, a tie breaker round will be given.

B. COLLAGE MAKING GENERAL MECHANICS:


1. The contest is open to all students.
2. The collage must illustrate, interpret, and emphasize the theme for the science month
celebration using leaves and flowers.
3. The collage will be drawn on a 1/4 illustration board. The board, as well as the other materials
such as (flowers, leaves, and glue) should be provided by the participants.
4. Participants will be given one (1) hour to complete their collage. The participants will be held
accountable for any issues that may arise with regards to the originality and authenticity of the
design.

Relevance to the theme 30%

C. SCIENTIST KALOKALIKE GENERAL MECHANICS:


1. The contest is open for students in Grade 1 to 3 for Primary Level, Grades 4 to 6 for
Elementary level, and Grades 7 to 10 for Junior High school level.
2. Each grade level must have one participant.
3. The contestant must choose a foreign/Filipino scientist.
4. The contestant shall wear costumes that will resemble his/her chosen scientist.
5. Vulgar attires are strictly prohibited and will mean a deduction of two (2) points to the overall
score of the participant.
6. The medium of communication must be in English language.
7. The contestants must not use dangerous inventions and contributions that can jeopardize
him/her and the people inside the venue.
8. The contest shall have 3 rounds: Kalokalike face-off, Talent portion and Q & A portion
9. Each contestant shall be given 2-3 minutes to present one of the inventions and contributions
of his/her chosen scientist for their talent portion.
