Reference is made to the above subject matter.

Pemba Town Council wish to remind you that you have not corrected the defects on Chinywa
Ndavu Water Point. Standard and Special Tools and Manuals are not yet supplied to your
Employer/Client – Pemba Town Council.
Against the aforementioned, you are given Seven (07) days in in which you must mobilize and
correct all the defects as follows.

• Borehole Siting, drilling and installation of hand pump at Chinywa Ndavu

 • Training of the School community in operation and management of the solar mechanised
water System and supplying of Operation and Maintenance Manuals at Kashongo Primary
School.
• Supply and delivery of Manuals and Special and Standard Tools for hand pumps, refer to
Bill No. 1 items 1.2 to 1.6 on the Bill of Quantities (BOQ).
Be informed that all works must be completed and the Water Points handed over to the Project
Manager not later than 31st May, 2023.

RE: COMPLETION OF THREE (03) WATER POINTS AND CORRECTION OF
DEFECTS
Reference is made to the above subject matter.
Pemba Town Council wish to inform you that the five (05) Water Points namely Chuumbu,
Muchachacha, Muzelengani, Maambo and Chimowa are defective. Muchachacha Water Point
is not functional while Chuumbu, Muzelengani, Maambo and Chimowa Water Points are not able
to retain water in the pipes. The five (05) borehole sites Hanamwitala, Hamalambo, Hamafuwa,
Mutaba and Lweendo awaits borehole drilling
Against this background, you are hereby given seven (07) day in which you must mobilize and
begin with correction of defects as follows.
• Ensure that the four Water Points namely Muchachacha, Muzelengani, Maambo and
Chimowa retain water in the pipes after pumping. Each Stainless-Steel pipe require a seal
that prevents water leakage.
 • Break the drainages for Maambo and Chuumbu, reconstruct the drainages and ensure that
they are not very steep towards the soakaway
Upon correction of defects, proceed to the borehole sites as follows.
• Borehole siting, drilling and Installation Stainless Steel (SS) Hand Pumps at Hanamwitala
and Hamafuwa. Two borehole drilling attempts at each of the two sites were dry boreholes.
• Drilling and Installation Stainless Steel (SS) Hand Pumps at Mutaba, Lweendo and
Hamalambo. Borehole drilling attempts were not made at these three sites.
Be informed that all works must be completed and the Water Points handed over to the Project
Manager not later than 18st June, 2023.
Your cooperation in this regard will be highly appreciated.

RE: COMPLETION OF THREE (03) WATER POINTS AND CORRECTION OF

DEFECTS
Reference is made to the above subject matter.
Pemba Town Council wish to inform you that the Majata Water Points is defective. The Water
Point is heavy when pumping and is not able to retain water after pumping. At Majata Solar
Mechanised borehole; the fencing wire is not well anchored, tank stand base concrete require
attention and the water kiosk is low. Three (03) borehole sites at Chisangu, Nakapata Community
School and Hangoma Community School are not yet drilled.
Against the aforementioned, you are hereby given seven (07) days in which you must mobilize
and begin with correction of defects as follows.
• Repair Majata Hand Pump and ensure that the Hand Pump is not heavy when pumping and
retains water in the pipes after pumping.
• Increase the number of poles supporting the fencing wire at least 2m to 2.5m spacing and
anchor the fencing into concrete all round perimeter.
 • Raise the taps on the kiosk and increase concrete volume on the kioks.
• The four tank stand base concrete should made into squares and not the current oval
outlook.
Upon correction of defects, proceed to the borehole sites as follows.
• Borehole drilling and Installation Stainless Steel (SS) Hand Pumps at Chisangu Village,
Nakapata and Hangoma Community Schools.
Be informed that all works must be completed and the Water Points handed over to the Project
Manager not later than 18st June, 2023.
