Why did Jesus Christ give us the Great Commission?

Remember the story of Lazarus and the rich man in Luke 16:19-31

Mat 28:18 And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me
in heaven and on earth.
Mat 28:19 "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of
the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,
Mat 28:20 teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always,
even to the end of the age."

Are we still COMMITTED to the Great Commission?

Let me share to you why we should be committed to the Great Commission.

THE COMMISSION GIVER: Jesus Christ –“All authority has been given to Me”
Mat 28:18 And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me
in heaven and on earth.

THE COMMISSIONED: Disciples (us)

Mat 28:16 Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had
directed them.
Mat 28:17 And when they saw him they worshiped him, but some doubted.

THE COMMISSION: To make “Disciples”

Mat 28:19 "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of
the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,

Why a disciple?

 A disciple is a committed follower and committed a believer.

 Only a disciple have the passion to make another disciple.

Why Discipleship?

Jesus Christ commanded us to make disciples to continue the mission from generation to generation.

How to be part of the DISCIPLESHIP CHAIN?

Brothers and sisters in Christ, we have a very simple formula.

 1. Be a Disciple first
2. WIN PEOPLE TO CHRIST (Mark 16:15-16)
3. EQUIP BELIEVERS “ teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you”
4. SEND DISCIPLES “go and make disciples of all nations”
