This position has prepared me to be able to cater to every type of person and turn a negative into a
positive. In the service industry you are faced with a lot of issues that you have to deal with
instantaneously which is similar to nursing you have to be quick on your feet. I also was able to work well
as a team with back of the house staff, front of the house staff, and management to make for a positive
work environment.

Additional Experience

AHA BLS CPR Certification 2022-2023,

BLS certification is a set of life-saving medical procedures performed in the early stages of an
emergency. I am able to maintain the life functions of a person who is having a medical emergency, like
cardiac arrest or respiratory failure, until more advanced medical care can be provided.

Dementia Friends certified 2022-23

A Dementia Friend is someone who, through attending a live session, learns about what it's like to live
with dementia and then turns that understanding into action. From telling friends about the Dementia
Friends program to visiting someone who is living with dementia, every action counts. Anyone of any age
can be a Dementia Friend – we all have a part to play in creating dementia friendly communities

Volunteering with an Elderly Dementia patient August- December 2022

A peer and I would visit with the family in-home and plan activities to give the caregiver time to
accomplish what they are unable to do when taking on the role as sole caretaker. This taught me the value
of supporting not just the individual with the illness but the caregiver as well.
