I. RATIONALE:
In consonance with Division Memorandum No. 151, s. 2023 addendum to Division
Memorandum No. 113, s. 2023, dated August 17, 2023, the New Canaan Integrated School
will participate the District Level of the 2023 Science and Technology Fair: Embracing the fair's
theme, "Agham at Teknolohiya: Sandigan ng Kalusugan, Kabuhayan, Kaayusan at
Kinabukasan," on October 17, 2023 that aligns seamlessly with our school's vision of nurturing
well-rounded individuals equipped to address contemporary challenges. Our school believes
that participating in this event will encourage our students to explore science and technology,
fostering their understanding of crucial topics related to health, livelihood, and future
sustainability.

II. PROPOSED ACTIVITIES FOR FY 2023

A.5. Objective:
Terminal Objective – To promote Science and Technology consciousness among the
youth.
Enabling Objectives: Science and Technology Fair 2023 aims to provide appropriate
knowledge, skills, and attitude for the participants to be able to:

• Develop quality education in Science and Technology


• To accelerate the promotion of Science and Technology and encourage research and
development among the students.
• Develop problem-solving skills by addressing real-world issues through scientific
methods
and technology.
• Engage in collaborative efforts, fostering teamwork and interdisciplinary approaches in
solving problems.

A.7. Methodology:
In preparing for the 2023 Science and Technology Fair, New Canaan Integrated
School has meticulously structured its approach to ensure effective participation in the Quiz
category. The school has initiated a comprehensive selection process, identifying 2
students from the elementary level and 2 from Junior High School, each showcasing
exceptional aptitude and enthusiasm for scientific learning. Additionally, the school has
appointed dedicated coaches the Science Coordinators from Elementary level, Ma’am
Larlen Marie T. Alvarado, and for the Secondary Level, ma’am Irish Beth C. Tambo-on;
ensuring that the participants receive expert guidance and mentorship.

The preparatory phase involves intensive training sessions. Students selected for the
competition are immersed in a curriculum that not only enhances their scientific knowledge
but also sharpens their critical thinking and problem-solving skills. These sessions, led by
experienced educators, cover a wide array of topics in line with the fair's theme: "Agham at
Teknolohiya: Sandigan ng Kalusugan, Kabuhayan, Kaayusan at Kinabukasan."

The District level of Science and Technology Fair will be held at ACISC on October
17, 2023.The District Science Coordinator prepared the program which will start 8:00 am
and will end at 5:00 pm. 100% participation of all schools in Alabel 1 District is expected.
And the winners in District Level will compete in Municipal Science and Technology Fair
2023.
