HARSH FORWARD ENGAGEMENT
COMPLAINT: Very harsh engagement into drive from either reverse or from neutral after overhaul. Reverse
application is fine.

CAUSE: Check ball # 1 (1st. Clutch Exhaust) may be out of place or missing. This will allow un
orificed oil to enter the first clutch circuit when the transmission is placed into drive.

CORRECTION: Check the main valve body to be certain that all of the check balls are placed correctly. Figure
1 identifies the check balls and their locations.
