DESCRIPTION OF CHANGE:

There are two kinds of scanning optics units (839Y0060 and 839Y100057) for FM-DL 100 (DRYPIX PRIMA).
When you apply for PRS (FRA) for 839Y0060, we will send you 839Y100057 as a new part in place of
839Y0060.
New machines to be shipped from our factory in November 2010 or later will have 839Y100057.

Refer to the attachment how to apply for PRS (FRA) for the scanning optics unit in “DETAILS” below.

DETAILS:
1. We will employ a new scanning optics unit (839Y100057) in place of 839Y0060. From #97120639 to be
shipped in November 2009 or later will have the new scanning optics unit.

2. Machines that have 839Y0060: #96520001to #97120638

3. What you have to do to replace the scanning optics unit from 839Y0060 to 839Y100057:
(1) It is necessary to perform following procedure (1-3 below) when replacing the scanning optics unit
from 839Y0060 to 839Y100057.
1. Replace the cable.
2. Attach the Ferrite core.
3. 2 washers (W5) have to be used only for 2 areas when attaching 39Y100057 to the sub-scanning
unit, and 898Y100667A (part Kit) is necessary.
Refer to ECN:2010-E-0068 for details.

(2) Cautions:
If once the scanning optics unit is replaced from 839Y0060 to 839Y100057 due to any failure, the
process (1) above should have been done even for machine that has 839Y0060.
It is NOT necessary to order 898Y100667A at the second time or later of replacing the unit in the
same machine. Apply PRS(FRA) by referring to 4.(2) as usual.

4. <IMPORTANT> Applying PRS (FRA)

Enter the following part numbers for “Defective Part Code:” and ”Part to Be Sent:” as follows.

(1) Applying FRA for 839Y0060 of FM-DL 100
