Introduction
Nemo Outdoor is a laptop-based, drive and laboratory testing solution for wireless networks and devices testing,
troubleshooting, optimization and benchmarking. It supports all the latest network technologies and
smartphones. Nemo Outdoor support 5G NR (NSA, SA), LTE-A, NB-IoT and LTE-M and legacy 2G-3G mobile
networks testing with support to over 320 different terminals, IoT devices and scanning receivers from various
vendors.

Nemo Outdoor enables measuring quality-of-experience (QoE) metrics for the services using the very same
applications that real customers are using. Those applications run on the phone, in the very same way as with
the normal consumers have. Nemo Outdoor support include advanced YouTube video testing, Facebook,
Twitter, Dropbox, Viber, BiP, Line testing. With the optional Nemo Active Testing Application functionality
integrated into the Nemo Outdoor system, the smartphone measurement results reflect the real end-user
experience. This gives customers the capability to understand wireless network quality from end consumer
perspective, troubleshoot and optimize the network based on the results, ultimately improving customer
satisfaction, and reducing churn.

In this Nemo Outdoor 9.21 maintenance release we are continuing to add support for new 5G NR test devices
from all the main device vendors. We are adding TETRA scanning support in Nemo Outdoor with PCTel IBflex
and HBflex scanning receivers. We are also introducing enhancements and fixes to improve the capabilities and
usability of Nemo Outdoor SW. The following chapters elaborate more details of the new features and changes
in Nemo Outdoor 9.21 release.

Note that this release is designed only for the Nemo Outdoor users and has not been verified for Nemo Invex II
users.

New 5G NR test device with Nemo firmware
In earlier releases we have introduced support for majority of the flagship Qualcomm X50/X55/X60/X65,
Samsung Exynos 5100/5123/5123A/5133 and Hisilicon Balong 5000 based devices. In Nemo Outdoor 9.21
release we continue adding new 5G NR devices to be used with NATA and with Nemo Firmware.

New Samsung 5G NR devices

In addition to the earlier supported Samsung Galaxy S21 5G devices, in Nemo Outdoor 9.21 we will bring
support for the following Samsung Galaxy 5G device variants. They are available with NATA and with Nemo
Firmware or with NATA for non-rooted devices -option.

Nemo firmware development for the abovementioned devices is on-going and they will be available (if

PCTel Scanner update

In this Nemo Outdoor 9.21 release we are bringing the TETRA support for PCTel IBflex and HBflex scanning
receivers when using them with Nemo Outdoor SW. To be able measure TETRA with PCTel IBflex or HBflex
you need to have TETRA technology option purchased in scanner side and in Nemo Outdoor side you need to
have an add-on option:

• NTA50361B Handler software for PCTel TETRA scanning - HBflex and IBflex.

More detailed information how to use PCTel IBflex and HBflex for TETRA measurements with Nemo Outdoor
can be found in Nemo Scanner User Guide.

Nemo Active Testing Application (NATA)

Nemo Outdoor 9.21 requires NATA version 9.21.684.

New in NATA 9.21.684:

• Set default stream volume to 5 for Exynos 2100 and 2200 platforms
• Improve VQ audio uplink volume on Exynos 21 and 22 firmware
• Set links clickable in EULA and Privacy Notice
• Replace analytics privacy notice with general privacy notice
• Improve VoIP implementation responsivity
• SFTP large file (over 2GB) upload crash fixed
• Fixed the bug of Android 7 permission ask loop
• Fixed a problem where outgoing call attempt event was logged too early for some applications. (CAA)

Nemo Diagnostic Module (NDM)
Test device connectivity to Nemo Outdoor through Nemo Diagnostic Module was introduced already in Nemo
Outdoor 8.81 release. Since then Keysight is constantly maintaining and developing further the Firmware of
the Nemo Diagnostic Module to ensure the usability and the reliability of Nemo Outdoor SW using test
devices connected through NDM.

Firmware

With Nemo Outdoor 9.21 release it is highly recommended to use NDM FW version 1.50.

NDM compatible test devices

The devices that has tested and verified to be stable with Nemo Outdoor SW through Nemo Diagnostic
Module are listed in “Nemo Outdoor Qualcomm Chipset Based Terminals” data sheet and in “Nemo Outdoor
Samsung Chipset Based Terminals data sheet. It is recommended to use only those verified test devices in
multi-device configurations through the Nemo Diagnostic Module.

Other New features
