Mathematics Clearance

Luke Layag

I consider the tenth year of mathematics a roller coaster ride experience for me because it took
me on a ride to expose me to a wide range of mathematical concepts. I have studied a variety of
topics during the course of the year, including circles, polynomial functions, remainder theorem,
division of polynomials, geometric sequences, arithmetic sequences, patterns, segments and
sectors, permutations and combinations, probability, and measurements of ungrouped data. I
studied the characteristics of circles, including radius, diameter, circumference, and area. I also
learned how to analyze and manipulate polynomials, find the degrees and leading coefficients of
polynomials, and solve polynomial equations using a variety of methods. My grasp of patterns
and sequences is expanded by geometric and mathematical sequences. It taught me how to
spot the common difference or ratio in a series and use it to my advantage in order to locate
particular terms or the total of a specified number of terms. In addition, I learned how to estimate
an event's likelihood, recognize independent from dependent events, and apply the
multiplication and addition laws of probability to actual circumstances. I was able to find the
remainder of a polynomial division using the remainder theorem, which has applications in
areas like cryptography and error detection. I’ve had a ton of fun learning new things in
mathematics with your teachings and discussions, Tita Evie. You helped me build a strong
foundation on my knowledge and skills regarding math and it will serve as my strength going
through senior highschool and college.
