Pressure Vessel Maintenance Checklist
Pressure Vessel Maintenance Checklist
External Inspection
The external inspection covers the outer parts of pressure vessels. This includes the
following items:
[ ] Leakage
[ ] Coverings
[ ] Corrosions
[ ] Vessel mountings
[ ] Potential cracks or other external damages
Internal Inspection
The internal inspection involves inspecting pressure vessels from the inside. This includes:
[ ] Pressure rating
[ ] Interior surfaces
[ ] Bolts and seals
[ ] Pressure relief valves
[ ] Tubing and connections
[ ] Opening
[ ] Special closures
[ ] Corrosions, cracks, and other internal damages.
Pressure Test
Pressure tests are used to measure the pressure inside pressure vessels. This includes:
Piping Systems
This section of your checklist covers pressure vessels connected to piping systems. This
includes:
Documentation
[ ] Test results
[ ] Inspection dates and times
[ ] Documentation of pressure vessel performance
TUGASAN 2 – TRANSLATE KETERANGAN DIBAWAH DAN SALIN ATAS KERTAS A4
As a general rule, any pressure vessel should be inspected once it is installed and
before it's put to use. This ensures that any pressure vessel going into service is
tested and approved to perform as it should. Outside of starting service, pressure
vessels should be inspected and tested at least every five years.
Pressure vessels are designed to operate safely at a specific pressure and temperature,
technically referred to as the "design pressure" and "design temperature." A vessel that is
inadequately designed to handle a high pressure constitutes a very significant safety hazard
PRESSURE VESSEL TYPES
Cylindrical, horizontal, and vertical pressure vessels are the most common kinds of vessels
and they all require specialized ASME caps on each end. These caps are called “heads” and
there are three primary kinds
