Vacancy Announcement
(Technical Advisor (MP-I)

Applications are invited from Pakistani Nationals for appointment to the position of Technical Advisor (MP-I) in
M/o Climate Change, Islamabad on contract basis for a period of three (03) years. The requisite criteria are as
under:-

Qualifications / Eligibility
i. Ph.D/M.Phil or Master’s Degree in Climate Change/Environmental Sciences/Renewable Energy/Natural
Resource Management/Environmental Economics & Policy /Climate Finance or any other relevant
disciplines from HEC recognized national or international university of high ranking. Candidates with
highly cited research publications in national / international high – impact journals will be given preference.
ii. At least fourteen (14) years professional experience for candidates with Ph.D and eighteen (18) Years’
experience for candidates with Master’s Degree in the relevant field [including three (03) years of senior
management level positions], particularly in the areas of policy formulation, strategic planning,
conceiving/implementing development initiatives with specific focus on climate change. Qualifications in
project management, climate finance, environmental law, sustainable development initiatives and IT will be
considered as an added advantage.
iii. Comprehensive understanding of the climate change scenarios on national and international level
iv. Demonstrated knowledge and practical working experience of multidisciplinary policy/strategy formulation,
national planning in the field of environment management and mainstreaming climate change mitigation
and adaptation initiatives, livelihood improvement, biodiversity conservation or natural resource
management in developing countries.
v. Demonstrated ability for impact oriented specific contribution through original research publication (s) in
national / international high –impact journal.
vi. Skills and knowledge to build linkages between environmental, energy, climate change sustainable
development goals (SDGs), macroeconomic policies, poverty reduction, and sustainable development.
vii. Extensive conceptual and practical knowledge of operating and strategic principles of international donors
and UN agencies.
viii. Experience of working and collaborating with stakeholders including governments; International donors,
INGOs, civil society etc.
ix. Demonstrated ability of analyzing data and preparing analytical /technical reports.
x. Experience of drafting various climate change related bills/legal documents.
xi. Age: 62 Years Maximum; Quota: Open Merit
