Jeju Island
Nora Al-Mutairi .
korea jeju island
The island is described as a volcanic island. The most famous of its volcanoes is
known as the Hallasan volcano, whose crater rises about 1950 AD. It is also known
as the highest altitude in South Korea. It is believed that the island was formed two
million years ago due to a huge volcanic eruption entirely of basalt and lava rocks.
It is classified as one of the richest forests in the world, because no human or industrial
intervention reached it until the eleventh century, and the forest contains a huge amount of
groundwater to cover the needs of half a million people on the island.
The island is known for its mild climate, and it rains at times during the
summer, and the temperatures rarely drop during the winter to negative.
