Activity 7 – STUDENT MANAGEMENT

1. Student management are skills that teachers acquire and hone over time. This
skill almost never "jell" until after a minimum of few years of teaching experience. To be
sure, effective teaching requires considerable skill in managing the myriad of tasks and
situations that occur in the classroom each day. Skills such as effective classroom
management are central to teaching and require "common sense," consistency ,a sense
of fairness, and courage. These skills also require that teachers understand in more
than one way the psychological and developmental levels of their students, and are only
acquired with practice, feedback, and a willingness to learn from mistakes. The main
goal of the school is to disseminate an information in an environment that encourages
accountability, relevance and retention of the information gathered, which is done by the
school administrator, who is charged with allowing this opportunity and environment to
occur on behalf of the students. In their roles their objective to improve the response of
the student in academic matters. But there are other aspects that cannot be easily
captured without the intervention of other services in the district like school safety and
transportation.

Managing the Student Environment

School transportation is a critical part of student management for two reasons:
1. Some academic activities need the intervention of transportation services to fulfill
them
2. Safety of the students as they are transported to and from home and school

For these two reasons, student management efforts are increased in tracking each
student and ensuring that they are where they are supposed to be. Advanced
transportation management systems can be integrated with student management
systems to increase the safety in and around school, and in the coordination of efforts
for transporting students for educational trips, field trips, and to and from school.

Since the main objective is to improve the interaction of the students with the school
environment, the transportation system coordinates all efforts with the student
management system to deliver such an environment in efficiency, safety and reliability.
As a parent, you would be comforted to know that there are concerted efforts by your
school district to manage the location and education of your child during their schooling

years. Safety concerns are always a real fear, and both School Administrators and
Transportation Administrators along with parents work hard to keep their students safe
from harm. As a parent, you are entitled to information on the location of your child if
you suspect they are not in the correct location, your queries need accurate and current
information regarding the location of your child. Student management systems, which
are incorporated with tracking methods that do not violate the student's right to privacy,
are used to ensure that the said student is where they are supposed to be.

Time Management
Without a well-coordinated effort to take control of time, student management would not
be essential, since it all starts with the academic program, what they need to study and
at what time and duration. The second consideration has to do with efficient methods of
locating the students where they will respond to the academic efforts. The third
consideration is in ensuring that the resources allocated for the academic exercises are
well utilized to meet the academic and transportation schedule. In achieving this then,
the following aspects are considered in student management:
 Classroom schedules
 Field trip schedules
 Sporting events schedules
 Home locations of all the students
 The best routes for transporting the students from home to school and back, from
school to field trip locations, and the time it would take for each route
 A well-coordinated effort for student management would ensure that the time for
each student is managed effectively in exposing them to all required academic
and recreational exercises for their developmental well-being.

In as much as student management treads across other roles in the delivery of

education, it is only to the extent where all other roles coordinate efforts to make the
experience of the students more conducive for learning.

2. Enrollment Management is a term that is used frequently in higher education to

describe well-planned strategies and tactics to shape the enrollment of an institution
and meet established goals. Plainly stated, enrollment management is an organizational
concept and a systematic set of activities designed to enable educational institutions to
exert more influence over their student enrollments. Such practices often include
marketing, admission policies, retention programs, and financial aid awarding.
Strategies and tactics are informed by collection, analysis, and use of data to project
successful outcomes. Activities that produce measurable improvements in yields are
continued and/or expanded, while those activities that do not are discontinued or
restructured. Competitive efforts to recruit students is a common emphasis of
enrollment managers.

3. Discipline is one of the most important things in a student’s life. It is crucial to follow
the discipline in School. Along with education, students must learn the discipline in
School because without the discipline; students can’t be well educated. Discipline is
something that keeps each person in control. It motivates a person to progress in life
and achieve success. Everyone follow discipline in his/her life in a different form. Besides,

everyone has his own prospect of discipline. Some people consider it a part of their life and
some don’t. It is the guide that availability directs a person on the right path. Discipline can
be considered as the potential of students to do a thing or finish their task in a fixed
time. The meaning of discipline is to keeping control so that students can attain their
objectives. Discipline in student’s life attract all the right things, and because of this,
students gain success in each field of their life. In a student’s life, the discipline is
always catered as a guide to focus on their goals. The disciplined life is classified by
success, efficiency, and better time management.
Here’s the Importance of Discipline In A Student’s Life:
1. Manage Time
If students follow the discipline in a better way than they can manage their time
significantly. Good discipline helps students to do all the assignments on time instead of
wasting it. If the students are not disciplined they waste all the precious time doing
unnecessary things. Set the proper time table and do things according to that time table.
2. Stay Active
Good discipline generates a positive attitude in students which is the most essential
thing that students need in their life. Discipline also creates confidence and eagerness
in students. Because of these things, students become active in each field of their life.
There are many disciplined habits by which the students stay active such as exercise
regularly, having good food, and sleep on time.
3. Being Focused
Discipline teaches students to be focused and motivated towards their studies as well
as other fields of their life. The students with strong aims are more focused. If students
do not stay disciplined so it becomes hard for them to stay focused on their studies. The
magnificent way to stay motivated is by writing down all the study goals that you want to
achieve in your life. Doing this, you will definitely stay motivated and achieving those
goals in your life.
4. Self-Control
If the students are disciplined so they have more self-control. Students need self-control
while talking with their teachers or elder people. So if they do not stay in
the discipline they do not have self-control and this becomes unpleasant for
them. Students have to use words carefully while talking with someone because of this
they also build good relations with others.
5. Relieve Stress
When the students stay in discipline it becomes easier for them to stay in control of their
studies and other important things. When the students do not stay in the discipline they
become careless and left their assignments and work for the last moment. This is the
major reason for stress in a student’s life, so to overcome this, the student must stay in
the discipline.
6. Better Academic Performance
Being disciplined is most essential for better education. Discipline is compulsory in
students’ life because education is not completed without discipline. It helps students to
listen to their teacher carefully and also helps them to understand the whole syllabus. If
the students follow the discipline, they complete their given assignments within time.
7. Getting Better Grades
If the students stay in the discipline, they perform well in class, which helps them to get
good grades. Along with getting good grades, students also learn a lot of new things
being a disciplined student. There is no doubt that if the students stay in the discipline,
they will become successful in their life and which is also beneficial for their career.

8. Set A Good Example To Others
When the students stay in the discipline, they also encourage other students of their
class to be disciplined as well. The other students only follow the students with
discipline when they see any positive impact on the grades as well as other fields of
their life.

4. Prepare a flow chart of enrolment of your school for the past five years. Please
present by Grade level / by year. Be able to reflect the meaning of the flow of enrolment
for the last 5 years ( Is it increasing or decreasing? )

Based from my research, the number of enrollees of Batan National High School for the
past five years was increases because of the school leaders that are planning on how to
improve school enrollment using the most effective marketing strategies.
