2) Please provide details of the activities (mentioned above) carried out during the month.
• Creating a CV
A lot of our students were really interested in learning about freelancing, thou it was not the part of
our course outline, yet, keeping in mind the interests of our students, we decided to give them basic
knowledge of freelancing, in this regard, we taught them how to make CVs and post it on different
platforms like Jobee.pk, Facebook Freelancing groups.
• Collaborating with MS office students for enhancement of logos and Team building
skills
The above competition sparked curiosity among students from other departments so we unofficially
collaborated with the students and asked them to create logos. This activity was done to enhance
team working and team building skills in students. All of the students welcomed other students and
even asked us to officially give credits to MS office students under their logos.
• Poster Making

We noticed a curiosity in students regarding logos so we decided to further work on their intrests
and teach them how to make posters. We taught them the difference between posters and logos,
The importance of posters and how to create their posters to the ongoing trends. Students came
up with brilliant poster making ideas.
• Creating Facebook Pages of their assigned themes the final week was preplanned for
the practical work of students and their involvement in one united project. The themes selected
in the previous week were introduced to students and each student was given a theme to prepare
a Facebook page on. Students first all attended an orientation session of their specific theme
where they interacted with other students of MS office, English language, and graphic
designing. Later students were guided on how to create a Facebook page and an activity about
thinking of a unique name for the page was assigned.
• Promoting their pages to their friends and general public on social media Students
were extremely excited to share their pages with their friends and family. We also promoted
their pages on our personal Instagram and Facebook stories.
• ENERGIZERS: We planned few fun filled activities for our students which included
“Sell me a pen” Pictionary; Naat competition, Rabbit-wall-gun game, Chinese Whisper and
many more. These activities were done initially to break the ice and later on to make sure that
students are engaged with us and to create an easily approachable, judgement free environment
in our classes!

5) Please provide details of the issues/challenges faced, success stories and lesson learnt
challenges:
The main challenges faced were in dealing with students individually since none of them
came from a business background or had business studies in their courses before.
• The class knew most of the stuff we were supposed to teach in first week and hence we
had to change the whole curriculum and teach them something challenging.
• The class was very active in questioning and answering their questions without getting
them confused with the whole tech world was itself challenging.
• Teaching individuals step by step how to make a secure google account was hectic too
when students were unable to pick good rememberable usernames for gmail.
• Dealing with different class strengths each day was a huge challenge for us.
• Recapping the marketplace to students while simultaneously covering branding stuff was
challenging.
• It was hectic to keep class engaging in times when we had internet issues.
• It became harder to cater 4 themes in one class with each student working on individual
themes.
• We were challenged when we found out none of students had a proper Facebook id to
make a Facebook account.
• Most students had no Gmail account or phone number to make Facebook pages.
• We catered creation of multiple pages since the student who had access to poetry page
was absent on the final day.
Successes:
• We were able to build a successful relationship with students. They were respectful of
what was taught and were eager to learn.
• The energizers like ‘sell me a pen’, ‘Pictionary’ and some other fun games gave class a
youthful touch.
• We were able to answer questions that students had queries in. these included but not
limited to, ‘how to delete a Google account?’, ‘how to erase google account from
Motorola after factory rest?’, ‘where to receive money in foreign currency terms?’ etc.
• Students were excited to run their own businesses once they grow up and got a broad
perspective of how a corporate world works.
• The professional use of social media platforms and how to get a job online fascinated
them.
• We were successful in building interest in students related to the marketplace.
• Many students came up with their own business ideas when they were given some life
experience exposure.
• Students showed immense creativity in making logos.
• Students felt confident enough than they did in their first week when presenting their
brand restaurants
• Operating Facebook now came in handy to each student. They explored options to delete
a page or even delete an account with critical thinking than just following instructions
given on google.
• Operating google and using search engines became easier for the students too and most
of the work done on Facebook pages was assisted through use of google search engine.
• Students simultaneously were working on their presentational skills when they were first
asked to present their brand identity in 2nd week. Later the skill was further nourished
when they were asked to describe their Facebook pages. All this assisted in boosting their
confidence when they were asked to dictate their experience in front of the camera.
• The creative side of students was also explored when they were writing page
descriptions. The students were responsive and well versed about what they were making
their page about
• We got the opportunity to meet the mother of one of student Rohaan and she was
extremely satisfied with her son’s performance. She shared some stories about how
Rohaan keeps talking about digital marketing at home and prepares himself for the next
day. She also told us that now Rohan is using his phone for useful purposes and keeping
in mind the interests of her son, she is planning to buy a second-hand laptop for him so
that he can further polish his skills. Receiving acknowledgement and positive feedback
from Rohaan’s mother made us extremely happy and we believe that this is a huge
success for all three of us, infact for the whole the GCT community!
Lesson Learnt:
• This journey was really amazing for all three of us. Every single moment spent in the
field was worth it. We learnt how these kids just need a slight push to do wonders. While
engaging in a conversation regarding feedbacks from students we learnt that they really
liked the way we are teaching them as normally their teachers are very strict and hence
they find studies hard and mentally exhausting. This made us realize how important it is
to introduce fun-filled learning based activities in our classrooms. We as teachers need to
engage and connect with students on personal level for the personality development and
growth of our students all across Pakistan. This journey also instilled a sense of empathy
in us as we found ourselves connecting with students belonging to a different
backgrounds.
