original.

• Creators can be writers, artists, musicians, designers, and


even inventors!
What are Creators' Rights?

• Creators have the right to protect their work from being copied

• This is called copyright – it gives creators control over how their


creations are used.
Why are Creators' Rights Important?

• Protects the hard work and effort creators put into their work.

make so that people must get your permission before they
copy, share, or perform your work.

• Creators can choose what kind of copyright license they want.


They can determine how strict or open to be about others
using, sharing, altering, or making money from their work.

Piracy and Plagiarism

✓Piracy is when people illegally copy and share movies,


music, or other creations.

information about the work (MLA, APA, etc.).

your research paper. These citations will refer back to the
reference page at the end, which lists all the sources that you
may have used in your research paper.
