Abstract

The study was conducted in order to explore how much of the population is impacting the
environment. The aim of the study was to identify the relationship between population and its
impact on the environment and how the factors of the environment are raising due to increasing
population. The qualitative study on 10 people by asking 5 questions. The results of the study
indicated the positive relationship between the population an its impact on the environment.
Moreover, the study conducted that population is increasing continuously and is impacting the
environment dangerously to the fossils, marine life, wildlife, degradation in ecology, polluting
air, polluting water, which is causing multiple disasters and pandemic's and are raising multiple
conflicts in the environment by increasing global challenges. Multiple intervention plans can be
promoted for educating people about the environment and how the population can be controlled.

Introduction

The population of the world is growing by approximately 47 million human beings per year and
the growth is distributed evenly across the globe. Most of the area of the earth is being carried by
the earth and the population is influencing and impacting the environment in multiple ways.
Population is impacting the environment in multiple ways which is including the increased
extraction of multiple resources from the earth and the resources such as fossil fuels, oil, gas and
cool, minerals, trees, water and wildlife is impacting. The process of these resources the
pollutants and waste are impacting the air and the quality of water and is also impacting the
health of other species including animals. Moreover, the increased number of populations is also
increasing fishing and hunting for human beings and this is reducing the species population. The
population is also impacting ecology in the forest and multiple habitats. freshwater is extracted
from the lakes and rivers and this is impacting the marine life. The 20 th century is recorded as
one of the highest numbers of the world population in the history of human beings. The
consumption of resources including land food, water, air, fossil fuels and minerals are impacted
by the increased number of populations. the population is also impacting the waste products and
as a result the conception of the air and the water is becoming more pollutant, increasing the
number of toxic materials and the greenhouse gases are increasing, this is causing harm to the
health of human beings and to the animals at the same time by making the ecology dangerous.
the burning of the fossil fuels is also enhanced by the increasing number of populations

particularly for the use of energy for generating the electricity and the transportation power in
multiple industrial processes making the air pollutant ("Population growth," 2022).

Objectives Of the Study

 TO explore the relationship between population and its impact on environment.

 To identify the factors impacting the environment due to population.

Increasing Population: Crowded Market

Research Question

 How much of an impact does over population have in our environment?

Thesis statement

More people mean an increased demand for food, water, housing, energy, healthcare,
transportation. And all that consumption contributes to ecological degradation, increased
conflicts, and a higher risk of large-scale disasters like pandemics. It also contributes to the
growing rate of animals which are slowly becoming extinct.
4

Methodology

The evidence of the research was collected by the qualitative research. Through qualitative
research the nature of phenomena was explored and identified the answers by questioning the
respondents. Data was gathered by asking open and date questions and by communicating
through people. as this method help the study to identify that what people think about the
increasing population and what factors are disturbing their life as well. five questions were asked
10 group of 10 people for identifying the objectives of the study.

Population Ecology

Following are the questions which were asked from people in order to explore and identify the
relationship between the population and its impact on the environment.

 How do the population is impacting the environment?

 Why do you think the population is impacting in Environment?
 In your opinion in what ways the environment is impacting by the consumption of
increasing population?
 What are the factors Which are impacting the ecology through population?
 In your opinion how the impact of population can be controlled?

Research Evidence
5

The study was explored in order to identify the cause and effect of the increasing population on
environment. this study identified that increasing population is causing dangerous effects on the
environment. As population is increasing on Earth Day by day and reach to 10.8 billion
according to the United Nations. The increasing population is causing the degradation of the
ecology which is particularly leading to deforestation, minimising the biodiversity, increasing the
emissions and causing the climate change. Moreover, it is also increasing conflicts day by day as
overpopulation is increasing violence and multiple political issues as vars are being started for
the resources of energy in Middle Eastern other regions. The increasing population is also
increasing the higher risk of pandemic sand disasters in the world including COVID-19, zika
virus, Ebola and multiple other virus which are originating in animals and is destroying the
wildlife ("Supplemental material for the Beirut explosion psychological impact study: An online
cross-sectional population survey," 2021, p. xx).

Graph of increasing population

The study indicated that the increase of population is impacting environment and is affecting
and minimizing the resources in the economy and is damaging the air and water as well. The
increasing population is not just affecting environment but also marine life as it is also causing
the problem towards global warming. according to the study the rise in sea levels and the
extreme conditions of weather conditions are causing global warming and in future it can be at
worse stage. The depletion of multiple resources and the biodiversity, including the waste
products and destruction of the natural habitat are the serious issues which are being impacted by
the increasing population on the earth (Weber & Sciubba, 2018, p. xx).
6

Global Footprint of Increasing Population

The study was conducted in order to identify the effect of the population on the environment in
multiple regions. the study concluded that the earth is suffering from the growth of the
population and are leading towards increasing factors of environment which includes the
emission of multiple gases in the air, destruction of land and soil, degradation, impact on wildlife
and impact on disasters is increasing. The study indicated that intervention plans should be made
in order to control the population while highlighting the dangerous impact on the environment
and on the ecology. The increasing population is not just affecting the environment but is
reversely affecting the human beings at the same time through disasters and pandemic (Budilova
et al., 2021, p. xx).
7

Population Raise by 2019 Graph

The study was conducted to identify the relation between population and the environment. the
study indicated that the population on earth is increasing more than numbers. The population size
is continuing to grow and is exceeding the limit while minimising the resources which are
essential for the globe. The study indicated that the composition of the population is impacting
the environment at large scale for 20 years. The element of the poverty and the degradation in the
environment are increasing by the consumption of the population. The goods and resources of
each economy are minimising and are impacting dangerously and creating problems for the
environment particularly for the future (Cole & Neumayer, 2004, p. xx).

Worse Impact on Environment due to Population

Results

The study indicated the positive relationship between population and its impact on the
environment. population is impacting the environment and multiple factors which includes the
high risk of multiple disasters in pandemic, the increase in the conflicts, the degradation of the
8

ecology including pollution of the air and minimalizing and impacting the wildlife and the
marine life.

Interpretation

According to the research question the population is impacting the environment in dangerous
ways. Moreover, according to the evidence, the population is increased and is increasing global
warming while causing the reverse impact to human lives as well. the intervention plans can be
generated for giving the information about the impact of the environment can be useful for
controlling the population and for minimising the impact.

Conclusion

The study concluded that population is highly impacting the environment and these two factors
are positively related to each other. as the population is increasing the impact on the environment
is also increasing at the same time. The ecology, the degradation of the environment. The
increased demand of the food, water, housing, healthcare, energy and transportation are
impacting and is leading towards the higher risk of pandemic sand disasters and is also
contributing to the wildlife at the same time (Garg, 2017, p. xx).

Recommendations

 The future story can be explored in order to identify more factors which are impacting the
environment the quantitative study.
 The quantitative study would help give the better results.
 The population size should be increase for the future research.
 More evidence of the data should be reviewed in order to identify the impact on the
environment through increasing population.
