PRACTICE LAB.

“pH SCALE”

NAMES:

GRADE: 70

OBJETIVES
1) Recognize the pH scale.
2) Identify the chemical composition of some substances according the pH scale.

MATERIALS:
 pH test strips.
 NaOH.
 Water.
 1 Lemon.
 Soil of vegetable garden.
 4 plastic cup.

THEORICAL FRAMEWORK: (search information and add a picture or draw, where you explain
the pH scale function and importance. STUDENTS DON’T FORGET TO WRITE THE
REFERENCE OR WEBSITE)

PROCEDURE:
1. In three plastic cups add water.
2. The first plastic cup you have only to add water.
3. In the second plastic cup you have to mix the water with NaOH.
4. In the third plastic cup you have to mix the water with the soil of the vegetable garden.
5. In the fourth plastic cup you have to add only the juice of the lemon.
6. Take a piece of pH strip for each plastic cup.
7. You have to immerse slightly the pH strip in the plastic cup and observe the color of the pH test strips.
8. Take a photo and answer the analysis.
