Suture Flap
Tight closure to avoid hypotony. Releasable gives flexibility
 One interrupted on palpebral side first
- Try not to encourage palpebral bleb

 Releasable on central side

- Watch the technique several times!
- Watch the loop in later steps!
Don’t pull it accidently
 Must do 3 throws
 Pull tight on loop

10. Close conjunctiva

 Use 8.0 or 10.0 vicryl, continuous
 Close in layers
- Horiz mattress
- Conjunctiva and tenons first run
- Then conjunctiva only, back to start
 Only pull on suture
- Not on needle  it will break
