BEHAVIOR OF JUVENILE
DELINQUENTS
Anti-social behavior – it is characterized by disrespect or
disobedience for authority.

needs which require attention. Among the most important needs of a
child are love, security, praise, peace, attention, happiness,
understanding, respect, and acceptance.

✓ Undisciplined desire for possession
✓ Loose morals in the home
✓ Parental indeffirence
✓ Lack of proper clothing and other school requirements
✓ Undisciplined plaesure seeking

Truancy – this is cutting classes without any reasonable cause.

This often brought about by:
✓ Unattractive school life
✓ Fear of punishment
✓ Proximity place of vices
Vagrancy – this is wandering away from home. Possible causes are:
✓Disagreeable home conditions
✓Feeble mindedness
✓Misdirected loive for adventure

Fear of abandonment expressed as assertion of
independence
Desire to be different in term of “fads”
Sexual desire and manipulativeness
Persistent wisecracking as long as it is witty
Obsessive desire for success and recognition
Emotional extremes expressed as sensitivity to
criticism

than purpose or gain
being on Unmoved by overtures of help and
harms helpers

Words are inconsistent with feelings,
course of language is strange, humor missing
Claims to have always been the first
moral to do something

development: Pathological lying for no good reason

Superficially charming but unable to
maintain intimate relations
Indicators of being
an “at risk” youth:
Frequent absenteeism, tardiness, or suspension
Academic performance below grade level or
repeating a grade
Oppositional stance towards authority
Drug or alcohol involvement
Being a “latch- key” child (child lacking adult
supervision)
Coming from a single parent family or foster home
CONCLUSION:
Any child can become a criminal if being ignored
by parents or lack of support/love by
society/family or being in the wrong company. We
as parents/society/family should always support
and encourage the youngstars towards the right
path. This would not only enlighten their future
but also make this world a peaceful to live on, and
to be a good example for young people.
RECOMMENDATION
The most effective way to prevent juvenile delinquency has indisputably
been to assist children and their families early on. Numerous state
programs attempt early intervention, and federal funding for community
initiatives has allowed independent groups to tackle the problem in new
ways.education and youth employment opportunities, enhancing social
skills, and providing youth with mentors and adult role models, and
making organizations or scholarship program for young children who
can't go in schools, and Build a sports facilities for a youth that they can
enjoy, have fun and to eliminate their problem so that they can avoid
doing wrong things
QOUTATION
“Juvenile crime is not naturally born in the boy,
but is largely due either to the spirit of adventure
that is in him, to his own stupidity, or to his lack
of discipline, according to the nature of the
individual.”
