Activity 1: The best Tissue paper in town
Learning Outcomes:
At the end of this learning activity, you are expected to:
1. Use metric system in measuring the length of the tissue paper;
2. Decide on the best tissue paper based on the given data; and
3. Formulate conclusion based on observed date.

MATERIAL THAT YOU NEED:

 4 different brands of bathroom tissue paper  Coins (25 centavo)
 Masking tape  Plastic spoon
 Water

Your Tasks
Task 1: Get four different brands of bathroom tissue paper. Measure 90 cm long of tissue paper from each
brand then and cut it.
Task 2: Stretch your 90 cm long tissue papers cross two chairs so that 30 cm is suspended without support.
Secure both ends with a masking tape.
Task 3: Ask one member of your group to fill the empty glass with tap water. The use the plastic spoon to
scoop water from it. Apply the water at the center of the suspended toilet paper uniformly. Repeat the
application of water twice without tearing the tissue paper apart. Do the same procedure with the other tissue
papers.
Task 4: Now, look at the wet part of the tissue paper. If you will place a 25-centavo coin on it, how many coins
will it hold without tearing it? Write your prediction.
