CHAPTER ONE

1.0 INTRODUCTION

1.1 BACKGROUND MATEMBWE VILLAGE COMPANY LIMITED

Matembwe Village Company limited within Njombe district was incorporated in May, 1989 and

registered under companies’ ordinance cap 212 on may, 1989. The company was incorporated to take

over the under taking and business carried on under the name and style of MATEMBWE VOCATION

CENTER with subsisting contracts and all asset and liabilities of the said business

GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION

The company is located in matembwe village in njombe district, some sixty kilometres away from

Njombe town. The main reason for having the company located in village is not only for creation of

employment to the villagers but also to teach the villagers better means of farming in a bid to improve

their productivity and better their living standards.

1.2 THE TYPE OF BUSINESS ORGANIZATION

The organization business is private because is amendment privately so it provide services to all kind of

customers living in Matembwe village and to make sure that all organization problem facing residents of

Matembwe village are solved by this private company.

1.3 ORGANIZATION STRUCTURE

Within matembwe Village Company works different department and each department have different

activities but all departments focusing on the same target at organization goal. The followings are among

of department that organization works with

i. Board of directors, this is most important department in private company which help to

manage all department within the organization which put all activities into before the

implementation of the activities, the purpose is to know how the plans can be successful with
looking the source of income within and out of the new organization not only that but also to

make the monitoring of those plans so as make sure every activities, plan are reached as the

expectation of the organization

ii. Managing director, the main leader within an organization who manage all department within an

organization and control all problems which suddenly happen or occur within the organization

and make it solved.

iii. Finance department, this department deal with all finance activities found in an organization

one of important department which help to make orders according to the need of customers to

whom need to engage with Matembwe village

iv. Production department, according to the organization /company of MVC production manager

help to check development in livestock, forestry and factory all this are under production manager

to know problems facing those sectors and to find solution if it under ability if not should report

to managing director in order to solve the problem.

1. OBJECTIVES /ACTIVITIES PERFORMED BY ORGANIZATION

The functions of the MATEMBWE VILLAGE COMPANY LTD

o Animal feeds production, this activity performed at MVC this activity which produce foods of

animals such as chickens and other animals.

o Livestock keeping, like chickens and pigs which help to make increase profit within the organization

and also foods produced at MVC this give easily to the company from reducing the cost of buying

foods from other places. Also through this give the company/ organization profit due to the selling

foods produced

o Electricity production, distribution and supply

 Electricity production, At MVC electricity produced from water \Hydro electric power

which help to perform different activities such as production of food of animals

 Distribution and supply, this from MVC electricity produced/supplied in different villages

which are; Ikondo, Nyave, ukalawa, kanikelele, isoliwaya, Image, Iyembela, matembwe

o Forestry, this company also have forest which help during the supply of electricity help to use

trees found in forest and also fire woods for helping during production of chickens to the

organization and through payment of electricity


1. LEVEL OF TECHNOLOGY USED

In MATEMBWE VILLAGE COMPANY during their entire activities the kind of technology used are

both manual and computerized that depend to the work are done at that particular time in that

organization. Although in term of computers used during working are very limited which make in

delaying of completing of work in time that are needed computerized system.

2 CUSTOMERS

In Matembwe Village Company there are many numbers of customers arrived to get different services

according to the customers’ problem, those customers are the following

i. Electricity customers, because this is the main point where electricity produced and through

paying their electric bill and checking their invoices for their payments

ii. Livestock customers , also this are the customers who need different services such as chickens,

chicken eggs and pigs all this found at MVC so this customers are important in increasing profit

at MVC

iii. Factory customers, this are the customers who take different feeds produced from factory of

animals like chicks mash, Growers, Layers, Breeder and also in other livestock.
CHAPTER TWO

2.0 INTRODUCTION

These chapters provide deep and wide explanations of the main activities undertaken during practical

training at MATEMBWE VILAGE COMPANY

2.1 PLACEMENT IN THE ORGANIZATION

During industrial practical at Matembwe Village Company I worked as Business administrator in

different departments and I worked as;

 Company accountant

 Cashier

 Storekeeper

 Production manager

2.2 DESCRIPTION TO ALL DEPARTMENT

 COMPANY ACCOUNTANT

CASHIER
 Creating invoice to customers of electricity, livestock and other sectors found within

the organization

 Ensuring payment per month of electricity

 Promoting customers to pay their electrical bill

 STOREKEEPER

 To ensure all company properties/assets well stored

 To make sure all assets documents well written and considered after the property to be

taken

 Recording all coming assets and arrange it to normal use.

 PRODUCTION MANAGER

This department produces engage in production of livestock production and factory

production where in livestock produce chickens and are divided in different types such

as;

 Sasso chickens, this is the type of chickens where are interconnected between

normal and broilers chickens where are produced within the organization who

are able to live at any and depend in finding their own life

 Broiler chickens, these are the type of chickens where produced in order for

meat purposes where different types of food in all types of chickens produced

 Layers , this are chickens produced for purpose of eggs products also for meat

this type of chickens help to gate eggs and meat at the same while broilers only

for meat

And for factory production engage in


 To check all production produced are for grade needed and all raw material used

are measured and all animals foods production

 To ensure the availability raw materials needed during the production food for

animals

2.3 WORK ENVIRONMENT

There is conductive working environment at work place at Matembwe village, village management team

has issued duties to all employee/ members who working at Matembwe village company and provide

Maximum Corporation. The council has ensured team work, absence of conflict and the presence of

working tools and equipments such as computers, internet and good policies to help workers and field

students to perform their duties in good working environment.


2.4 PROBLEMS FACED DURING FIELD WORKS

During my field work the following were the problems which acted as the challenge in performing the

day to day activity at Matembwe village company /MVC/.

 Climatic condition

The climatic condition of Matembwe village is very cold during morning and other the

whole day remain cold which make workers to be late to their activities

 Little knowledge on information technology

In other department need knowledge during preparing of the documents as the one of

member of department for the first time it was hard to understand how does the activities

performed

 Peoples thoughts

At Matembwe village peoples think that the company has a lot of money and not think

that money round to buy different raw materials such like maize, soya and other different

things

2.5 SOLUTIONS TO THE PROBLEMS FACED

Matembwe village there are different peoples living within and to ensure the conductive environment

for its employees by doing this


 Providing education to the peoples living at Matembwe village by educating that there are

different activities performed by an organization which help to run their works to the

employees and lastly to their customers

 Providing training on information technology to all department when receive the student

from different area is considered that to be given an education on how to use the electronic

machines with all programs found within.

2.6 EXPECTATIONS AND THE RESULT

Expectations on my field works at Matembwe Village Company are follows;

 To be good business administrator whereby through field practical training I have acquired the

knowledge and skills to help students to become good business administrators.

 To become competence in liaising with a wide range of people, involved in policy areas such as

stuff performance, health and safety within the organization

The result of my field work at Matembwe Village Company is as follows;

Am acquiring practical knowledge of business administration, report writing by linking the theories and

practical aspect
2.7 NEW THINGS LEARNED

The new things learned during my field work are follows

 The first thing learned is how to communicate with other workers within an organization and

customers surrounding us, good language to speak with customers and how to manage

conversation with any customer

 How to prepare budget according to my payment per annual to all department found within the

organization there are payment and payment is an agreement between employer and employee

which gives morale to the worker during performing his company activity

 Learned how to manage time, through doing all my activities need time and any activity given

performed by following time given so through all this I learned how time managed and to work

on time also submit of work by tome arranged

 Acquired to use computer knowledge and through industrial training this give me knowledge on

how to use computers to do the activities and perform all activities by time planed

2.8 GAPS IN TEACHING THEORY AND PRACTICES.

The gaps in teaching practice and theory during my field work are follows most of university teaching

theories covered in bachelor degree in business administration compared in private sectors is quite

2.9 RELEVANCE OF ATTACHMENT

I have relevance of attachment under my field work documents. During the field works I was attached in

the department of business administration where I performed duties and tasks in the section of; company

accountant, cashier and storekeeper this relevant to the course of certificate of business administration
CHAPTER THREE

3.1 CONCLUION

The government has formulated the legal frame work that support the use of information technology in

order to enhance information technology to be important area for the development to support the

performance of government networks. Throughout my field work, it was concluded that between the

sources of information and receives which involves technical the transfer of technical information from

the source to receivers.

Therefore an exchange of ideas or information’s between the secretaries and the other members of staff is

essential for the development and improvement of the office and the organization at large. The ability to

communicate effectively determines to a very large degree to the success or failure of the source of

information and receivers.

3.2 RECOMMENDATION

TO THE ORGANIZATION

 To provide motivation to its employees, there are different types of peoples in the organization

who work and increase the company income through that the company manager should motivate

workers by giving their payment by time planned and through that help to the workers to perform

their activities correctively and by time planned


 Provision of office to field students in order to perform their activities, to any

organization/company expect to get a field student who come and learn how to manage the

business should be given his office for the purpose if any activity given should performed at time

arranged

 To influence the customers to have faith to their activities performed every day, there are

different products produced within the organization and through all those departments have

peoples who have responsibilities to perform daily through those activities have products all

members should respect all products produced

 The coverage of monitoring the activities must be expanded, to cover more and to have low

spend aspects the whole Matembwe village company like training must be continued and

improved capacity of their staff members

TO THE ORGANIZATION OF NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF TRANSPORT

Based on the field conducted at Matembwe village company ltd, the following are recommendation

and suggestion the administration of National institute of transport,

 Tips on how the organization systems use to perform their activities, as an organization also

know how does the companies organize themselves should know how does it organize

themselves to perform different activities

 Providing the education about information technology. The organization of national institute of

transport should review the application of information technology to student to help them to

go simultaneous with the development of the science and technology in the world where by
some work require capable information skills like working with government mailing system,

processing payroll and approving promotion of employees.
