Lesson Plan in Mathematics 1

I. Objective:
At the end of the lesson student should know to
 Recognize coins and bills up to 100 and their notation.
II. Subject Matter: Recognizing and comparing coins and bills up to 100 and thier notation.

Reference: Mathematic 1 pg..
Materials: Manila paper, printed materials, money(coins and bills), piggy bank, pictures
Values: Being thrifty
III. Preliminary Activities
A. Procedure
1. Drill
Let the pupils read the number from 1-20,50 and 100 in mother tongue,english and spanish
language.

2. Review
Ask student what they have remember about the story of "Jaja and friends." Answer the
following questions.
3. Motivation
Show a piggy bank to the pupils and ask the following questions.

Ask:
Do you know what kind of object is this?
Do you have this at home?
What is the uses of piggy bank?
What do you think is the inside of a piggy bank?
This morning we are going to recognize and compare coins and bills up to 100 and thier
notation.
What is our lesson for today?
B. Presentation/Discussion
Get some coins and bills from the piggy bank. Introduce the coins and bill to the pupils.
Ask: How are we going to recognize the money? Let us recognize the coins and bills from small
value to bigger value.
Present the chart of different coins from small to big value.

Say: Look at all these coins.


1 c has the smallest value.
Did you know that we can make 1 peso if we put four 25 centavos together.
In 1 peso coins we can see the face of our National Hero Dr. Jose P. Rizal.
In 5peso coins we can see the face of Andress Bonifacio.
In 10 peso coin we can see the face of Apolinario Mabini.
20 peso has the biggest value among the coins.

Say:
The orange bill is 20 peso. We can see the face of our late President Manuel L. Quezon known
as ama ng wikang pambansa and the malacañang palace where the President reside. At the back
of the bill we can see a banaue rice terraces in Ifugao.
The red bill is 50 peso. We can see the face of our late President Sergio Osmeña in front and at
the back is the Bulkang taal located in Batangas.
The voilet bill is 100 peso. We can see the face of our late President Manuel A. Roxas and one of
the scenic spot of Albay the Mayon Volcano at the back of the bill.

B. Guided Practice

I.Directions: Atong ilhon ang kada hulagway sa kwarta.

Answer: usa ka gatos, singkwenta, baynte,dyes,piso

II.Directions: Ilha ang kadtidad sa kwarta pina-agi sa pag-usa. Isuwat ang sakto nga letra.

Group the pupils in to 3. Give them a piggy bank with coins and bills inside. Let them recognize the
money and the total value.
