Dear music lovers

We are pleased to invite you to participate in our 1st annual Royal Schools Alberton
Clash of the choirs’ competition 2023! This is a music competition unlike any other,
which will be inclusive of different high schools in the Gauteng province. The aim of
this competition is to promote high school music engagement in South Africa,
specifically in the choir music sphere, while creating a meaningful platform for
learners to be cultivated and mentored by music professionals. Moreover, this
competition seeks to address social injustices which are faced by high school
learners around South Africa through music.

The competition details are as follows:

 High School Choirs of all the Royal Schools and surrounding areas are invited
to participate in this competition on the 21st of October 2023 at Royal Schools
Alberton.
 Each of the schools will be expected to perform 3 songs in the following
categories:
 Tiktok rendition- Choose any song/ theme that is trending on tik tok
and create a musical piece of 3-5 minutes long.
 The piece may be accompanied by a dance routine, have a solo
piece and showcase creativity

 Set Piece- It is well with my soul by - Please use the Christ in

Song arrangement attached.
 Own choice - The choir master`s own choice song.
The song should me sung in at least two languages. This could be
in any part of the song i.e. chorus or stanza

 The competition will commence from 09:00 to 17:00, all participants to be

seated by 08:30.
 Food and drinks will be available for purchase from our different stalls.
Everyone is welcome to rent a stall at the cost of just a R100, where they will
sell their desired goods.
