Personal Reflection on Equal Protection of the Law

Equal protection of the law in the Philippines, also known as the Equal Protection Clause,
is a constitutional principle enshrined in the 1987 Constitution of the Philippines. It is found in
Article III, Section 1, which states, "no person shall be deprived of life, liberty, or property
without due process of law, nor shall any person be denied the equal protection of the laws."
As what I can see, the Philippines has long struggled with income inequality and
disparities in access to economic opportunities. These disparities can lead to injustices where
marginalized groups have limited access to resources and are at a disadvantage in society. In
which, in the contrary, certain public officials have a direct access to misappropriate public funds
whenever they want. (i.e. unliquidated and questionable cash advances of certain public officials,
[see COMELEC en banc has passed a resolution withholding the salaries and benefits of
employees who still have pending liquidation of cash advances.]
